Move Infinite SMS and Keep it Alive!
First off, it blows that Google had decided to cut off external XMPP access, although I suppose it was almost guaranteed to happen with so many users using Infinite SMS. But is this really the end?
I think that innerfence could still keep Infinite SMS alive with one of the following options - of course, it would take a lot of work, but it would be worth it for all the customers you have. From my experience, keeping customers is a lot more important than always making money.
1: Use another SMS Gateway! Google is good, but surely there are others out there. Try working with those companies to keep Infinite SMS alive.
2: Get your own SMS Gateway. I'm not sure how much money you made, but you could purchase your own gateway and have complete control over everything that goes in and out.
I'd love for Infinite SMS to stay alive, because going out and shopping for a new texting program is just going to be a pain in the butt. Already I have found some which have built-in limits, and ads displayed; nothing as pretty as Infinite SMS. Take these ideas into consideration as you continue to move forwards and not let problems get in your way.

Inappropriate?Check out http://sites.google.com/site/bocosoft/
This app will let you send and receive both SMS and MMS, and they will also do international texting, all for free. -
Inappropriate?Do you know how this works? I'm not a big fan of apps that simply send stuff through email, Infinite SMS used an actual Gateway, which was cool.
Also, Guys at Infinite, if you really are done with this chapter in your company, perhaps the best thing you could do is make Infinite SMS opensource, and see if the community could take it to a new level.
Please consider this idea. -
Inappropriate? The app uses an email address to send and receive messages to an SMS gateway. This is all done from within the app; I know what you mean, a lot of apps send the text messages through the Mail App on the iPhone; iText does not do this.

Inappropriate?I think there are a lot of options out there still available for Innerfence, I kinda now want to know what their final decision is, and if I actually do need to go find a replacement app, or if they will change Infinite SMS.
-
Inappropriate?they havent said anything for days, i think its done.

Inappropriate?Looks like they have international texting, and notifications even when the app is closed. The app is coming out in less than a week.
