sms just says gmail
Why does the sms just say Gmail when it is sent to a phone? It works except it does not send my text but it receives text.

Inappropriate?When I send a test SMS to my phone it sends right away but the message only says "gmail - akala56" What ever I text does not show up in the message. However when I reply to the SMS from the phone it works perfectly. -

Inappropriate?yes and recieved is grey. The problem is I'd send u a SMS which would read "iPod touch" all you would recieve would be "Gmail-akala56" not "iPod touch" at all Then u would reply and I would get the reply.

Normally the messages look like
Gmail - you@gmail.com: Your message here.
People having this problem seem to be seeing it cut off at the colon ":".
It's possible the phone or carrier thinks there's something special about text messages with a colon in them.
Could somebody who's seeing this problem try sending a text message (not using Infinite SMS) to the friend who's seeing blank messages that has a colon in it.
For example, send "Hello: Goodbye" to your friend and see if they get both parts.
If they only get "Hello", the problem seems to have nothing to do with Infinite SMS or Google Talk. But maybe we could let Google know that colon is an unfortunate separator character. -
Inappropriate?I sent 1 to myself again and it was sent by me@gmail.com instead of the phone number assigned by google then I sent another one which came from the phone number and did not contain any text except Gmail-me@gmail.com

The normal messages from gmail have a colon right at the place where you're seeing them cut off. So try having somebody text your phone and put a colon in the message like "First Part: Second Part". Also, what kind of phone do you have? -
Inappropriate?I jus tried with another phone plus colon as u said and it worked fine. Mine is nextel but it doesn't work wit AT&T nor us cellular or tmobile phones that I have sent SMS to wit this app. The only one that worked was a sprint phone12 Comments Add a comment

Hi, Akala. Are you sure you sent that through Infinite SMS? Messages sent through Infinite SMS should come from a (406) number and look like ordinary text messages.

Inappropriate?I'm getting the same exact issue. Sometime, only the header (Gmail - [email address]) goes through, and other times the full message is delivered. The recipient has Sprint/Nextel.
