Aweber Plugin: Email list Segmentation?
Is there any way to segment your aweber email campaigns? For example: "pre-sales" to "post-sales" email campaigns? It would be nice if there was a way to automatically remove them from one list and add them to another.

Inappropriate? You can do much of this from within aweber itself. I'll explain one way, then we can see if there's additional integration points within Joomla! that might make this easier.
I'd setup 2 lists:
- registration
- pre-sales
- post-sales
Then go to list-settings / automation (in your aweber account).
For pre-sales, select "un-subscribe to list when someone subscribes to" and select "post-sales"
For registration, select "subscribe to list when lead subscribes to" pre-sales.
Now, setup the Aweber Plugin to to subscribe leads to pre-sales.
It's counter-intuitive because you only get one "automation setting" per list, so you have to get creative.
The trick ... is subscribing people to post-sales.
You can do this by cc'ing Aweber with your receipt and setting up an appropriate Email Filter. Exactly "how" to do this would depend on what ecommerce software you're using.
You can do a lot with the Automation Settings, you just have to be clear (possibly diagram) the flow of subscribes / unsubscribes.
Does this help? -
Inappropriate?Yes, I have done this from the Aweber side, but I did not know you could CC your receipt. Previously, I would send a person to a "thank you" page and asked them to "confirm their purchase" by entering their name and email into the Aweber form (my aweber account would remove them from pre-sales and add them to post sales list.)
If you could provide detailed instructions on how to do CC using Paypal for payments, that would REALLY help me a lot and I would be very grateful! -
Inappropriate? You would do this using whatever email system you have, by setting up email "forwarders", rather than using a direct opt-in form.
My company PayPal address is pay pal AT intelli spire DOT com . In DirectAdmin (my server control panel), I then set that address up to forward to myself, my wif-, err, accountant, and to mylist@aweber.com.
Aweber already has an Email Processor for paypal (Payment Processor: Paypal Orders) you can use, just enable it from List Settings | Email Processors in your Aweber account.
Minor changes to the parsing rules will allow you to store additional information in custom fields, if you choose to do so.
The only potential "downside" of this method (over the form method) is that you CANNOT turn "confirmed opt-in" "off" - Aweber needs that customer to click on the confirmation link so they can capture their true IP address in case of SPAM complaints.
