hi i try to download your freee software and nothing comes up. i can't even actually find the right html page to download stuff. can you help

Official "solution": The download page for the Updater component is:

Because the Updater requires an Internet connection to work, and it also requires core Joomla! support, unless you are able to follow the instructions on that page, the component may not work for you.
It DOES work for the vast majority of people and in the vast majority of situations, however.

Inappropriate?yeah i went to that page and can not find the files to download.
if you had a simple download tab and just had the files i need to download that would be great. i see you have instructions but it would be cool if you just have a link i can click on that would start the download process so i can demo your joomla plugin. -
Inappropriate?The extension is an installer plugin, and needs to be installed from the Joomla! installer according to the instructions on the site ... just downloading it to your hard drive doesn't do any good, causes extra steps and is much a more difficult way of doing things.
If you absolutely need to download it to your harddrive for some reason, you can copy & paste the link provided in the browser window and download it that way. -
Inappropriate?ok well i'm trying to teach inmates at a prison and so we don't have internet access. i have to bring it on a cd. i would like to have an exe file that i can just click on that way i can easily install other plugins. is there anyway you make it like this? i will check the insructions but it would be nice to have it automated.

Inappropriate?I'm seriously trying to think of a way to make this work for you. The Updater just doesn't work without an Internet connection.
You may, however, want to look over at JumpBox.com - they have a way you can run many web-applications, locally, by using the free VMWare player.
That might be more inline with what you are trying to do. -
