Should I decide to leave Intense Debate, is it possible for me to export my comments from Intense Debate into my Movable Type database? That is, I'd like to have all my comments properly registered with my MySql database as though I never used Intense Debate.
My concern is that if I should join Intense Debate and then later leave it, my comments will be stranded. I'd like to have them properly associated with their proper posts in my Movable Type MySql database.
Very interested in ID, but we want to be able to easily allow our existing member base to use their existing logins as transparently as possible with ID (in other words, not forcing them to register for new ID accounts, AND allowing their typical sign in on our sites to programatically sign them in to the ID accounts.)
Does ID offer an API that would allow this sort of two-way interaction? For reference, we're using PHP and MySQL for our membership backend.
This is also a feature request... instead of keeping the comments for a blog only in ID... I'd love to see a copy inserted into my wordpress database as well. That way, if I ever decide to move away from ID, I would still have all the comments in Wordpress for me to see and use. And double backups are always a good thing! :)
