I know there is a new ID-WP plugin in the works, but wanted to post some more thoughts in case this idea hadn't been thought of.
ID appears to be the last item to load on WP, specifically on an index page that contains a number of items. No problem with this, however the "x comments" link does not appear until after the page/ID loads, leaving just a blank spot until everything is complete.
Would recommend defaulting a static link that just said "Comments" until the page loads, and then have ID update the static link after everything has loaded.
I just upgraded to WordPress 2.5 and posted my first entry using the new version. However, from the main page, only my latest post does not have a Comments link in IE6. I see it just fine in the latest FireFox.
Many ppl comment on blogs to insert on these comments links to their own blogs, so that search engines find these links and increase their blogs evidence on searchs.
Are search engines able to find our references on comments hosted by IDC? :)
I know you want people to go to IDC website, but I miss the possibility to set my site on my comments. It's a good way to leave a way to be contacted (better than leave an email and be visited by spammers), and also very useful to have more links to my site :P
You could let each one choose where their name will point to and put any other text on the right pointing to IDC. That would solve pvt contact also, and we would be able to choose if we want to link our email, any HTTP link or even anything else.
Wordpress 2.5. In the index, inside the posting loop, the call to comments is showing this: "Comments (0)Comments (0)".
Check out http://clarionfolk.com for the problem, and then if you click on a post, the single "Comments (0)" is shown. Exactly the same code is called each time, although in different contexts obviously.
I just noticed that when you edit a full link in a comment and then decide to go back and edit it, the link code appears as html. if you then finish your edit but leave the html code as it was, the comment will show the (non-working now) html code as well
1. Write an IntenseDebate comment and include a couple of links to other sites like http://www.google.com
2. Save the comment
3. Edit the comment
4. The link is now broken and prefaced with HTML code as the less than sign got reconverted into HTML entity <
I imported old blogger comments into ID 3 times because they did not seem to come through correctly, but now I notice that the same comment is repeated 3 times on some of my pages. I assume this is my mistake for being impatient, but now I'm wondering how to correct it.
The initial problem I encountered was that not all of the comments were appearing on my blog. After waiting for a little while after importing, the comments [#] link began to work, but when I click on it, I only see about half of the comments that are supposed to be there.
How can I insert a link? I just want to make a word or some words to be a link, like I can do with Word. Sorry for my English. I wish you could understand what I mean.
