4 HOUR DELAY before Wordpress 'sees' ID enabled Comments. Comment Time Stamp issue!
Folks, I have been writing and emailing you a great deal about a problem with ID, Wordpress and my comment count on the index page.
After a bit of digging and days of frustration, "Wordpress Standard Comment Links" and "IntenseDebate Enhanced Comment Links" aside, I have found the actual issue.
There appears to be a 4 HOUR DELAY before ID enabled comments are 'seen' by Wordpress.
***THIS*** is what is messing up my comment count, and I would not be surprised if this was what was creating problems for others.
Here is a screen shot of the recent comments section on my dashboard taken at around 1:43PM Eastern Standard time.
Please note that Wordpress is telling me (incorrectly) that these are the last 4 comments made on my site (It's not...I get tons of comments. The whole point of my site's comment threads is to allow discussion on the daily news stories I post)
Here is a screen shot of the actual I-80 tolling story thread.
Note that the thread correctly states the comments are NOT RECENT, Made 4 HOURS AGO! Note there have been plenty of comments made since!
The actual "recent comments" aren't "seen" by Wordpress for 4 hours, by which time they are rather old!
For example, here is screen shot of my comment count for that I-80 tolling thread AFTER I made a 4th comment.
Back under my dashboard's recent comments section that 4th comment is not showing up. I would wager it will not show up under recent comments for 4 hours.
NOTE: I am using "Wordpress Standard Comment Links".
"IntenseDebate Enhanced Comment Links" always displays the correct comment count number but only says "Comments" in Internet Explorer, so I would prefer not to use it. In addition, it takes forever to load (would rather not use it)
"Wordpress Standard Comment Links" quickly loads on my index page. If you can simply fix this 4 Hour Delay issue, all of us having problems with the
"IntenseDebate Enhanced Comment Links" can simply use "Wordpress Standard Comment Links".
PLEASE FIX! THANKS!
NOTE: Upon further inspection it looks like this is definately a timestamp issue.
These comments (made this morning) are said to have been made this afternoon.

PS Forgot to mention, the "Recent Comments" section in my dashboard does not show ID avatars, etc. Is this how it is supposed to look?
Was not sure if the ID plugin was supposed to change or alter this in some manner.
Should also mention that recently my Comment Management Interface sometimes loads the Wordpres default, but at other times loads the ID version. I have tried resetting the plugin but all of these issues remain.
I am running Wordpress 2.7.1.
Perhaps 2.7.1 changed something internally that is causing problems with the ID plugin? I know there was some sort of change involving time zones in 2.7.1.

Inappropriate?It's not a 2.7.1 problem, I'm having the same issue with 2.7.
I'm bad, I know, I need to update WP.
I’m hopeful
-
Wow, thanks for the heads up. This thing is driving me and my readers NUTS! -
Inappropriate? Not sure, I *might* have the same issue. It looks like comments for my blog (1winedude.com) have stopped synching back to my WP database after one day of using ID. I have some comments now not synched for > 5 hours so it might not be a delay for me.
-
Inappropriate?Actually, it looks like my ID comments for 1winedude.com have simply stopped synching with my wordpress DB *period*.
I’m worried
-
Comments from your most recent post (http://1winedude.com/index.php/2009/0...) seem to be in WP as expected, but if you notice that syncing has stopped please let me know. -
Inappropriate? We did have a delay a few days ago due to a bug that caused a backlog of items to sync, but this issue should be fixed now.

this solves the problem

Yepper, thanks!!!
