Allow to claim your comments

I just imported my WP comments from two of my blogs (all went OK) but I noticed that things I've written in the past, are not attributed to me anymore.

I think there should be a way for an author that has registered to IDC to be able to claim the comments as his own somehow. I see that you're working on it but I don't know if it's going to happen or not. I thought a proper idea topic might be appropriate anyway.

Anyway, what I would need is some way to be able to claim the comments I made on my own blogs before I imported them. Similarly, my authors would want to do the same.

The way I can see this happening is possibly by allowing someone (registered with IDC) to request to claim any unclaimed comment. That would automatically trigger an email to the email address used when he posted the original comment with some kind of a unique claim link. Once that link is clicked, the commenter is verified as owning that email address and thus all the comments under that email address will be claimed.

Since Wordpress requires an email address to be used before you comment, that should be a possibility I believe.
