Can I import comments from Movable Type? How?
Hi! I have a Movable Type 4 based blog (not by TypePad, a standalone Movable Type installation), and simply loved the idea of a smart, united-yet-distributed comment system, being eager to add it to my blog.
However, I can't see a way to import my current comments to Intense Debate (the import tool does not appear when I select the "javascript snipped" option). Is it possible to get comments from a self-hosted MT blog into the system? How? Thanks!

Hi Chester. Thanks for submitting your question, and thanks for your kind words and interest in Intense Debate. Unfortunately, the Intense Debate importer does not currently support previous Movable Type comments. I know...it sucks, and it pains me to send this response. This is something that we are working on though and hopefully it will be available in the future.
The good news is that you can use Intense Debate for all of your future comments, so that has to lessen the pain a little, right? Again, we greatly appreciate your support and I apologize for the inconvenience.
Sincerely,
Michael
I’m bummed to send this response. There should be a violin playing in the background.

Inappropriate?Hi, Michael. Thank you very much for the kind reply! Having mixed comments in the site can get a bit confusing, but I will see what I can do.
I know it would be hard to support every blogging system available, so I have a suggestion for the dev guys: create a web service (a RESTful/JSON-based API would be great, but even a "traditional" SOAP WS would work) that allows blog owners to post comments on specific pages on behalf of non-logged-in users.
That would allow people to write their own import scripts - not only for their own sites, but more generic stuff for popular (and not-so-popular) blogging/publishing systems. And it would free you guys to focus on this cool system!
Cheers,
Chester.
I’m thankful

Could you please email me at support@intensedebate.com? How many comments will you be trying to import? We *might* be able to find a way. -
Also, please site this case and include this URL. Thanks. -
Inappropriate?Hello Michael, I have the same problem. Should I drop you and email as well since it seemed to have solved the OP's problem
