Comment link text not appearing
Even on posts where I have many comments, the comment link does not appear properly and rather only says "Comments".
Also, I tried setting up in Comment Layout the drop out but the comment link keeps on bringing me simply to the page of the post.

Don't forget that until someone replies to you, you can edit your original post. -
Inappropriate? Thanks for contacting us Dan. I'm using Firefox and I was able to see your comment counter. Also, when I select the comments link the comment box drops down.
What web browser and version are you using?
Thanks,
Michael

I just added Intense Debate to my new (still beta) blog:
http://www.mainwaypc.com
Sometimes the comment link (at the bottom of a post) shows up -- sometimes not. All 3 posts have 0 comments -- but the "comments 0" appears intermittently.
It seems to appear consistently when viewed with Firefox (v3).
It seems to be missing consistently when viewed with IE (v6).
help?
Thanks, Neil -
Neil, have you experienced this with IE7? We encounter a number of issues with IE6. However, for the most part our users do not use that browser. With that in mind, IntenseDebate is tailored for the more recent versions. Have you run into issues with Firefox 2? -
Inappropriate?I have fixed it since :-)
Thanks! -
Inappropriate?I'm having this problem...
1. Installed it and it displayed fine
2. Changed it from "Comments [#]" to just "[#]" so i would just see the number and not the word "Comments" and that worked fine
3. Then i decided i watned to go back to "Comments [#]" but when i did it didn't revert back it still just shows the number and not the word Comments.
Site is: http://www.KV4S.com
any ideas?
Thanks, Russell
I’m confused

Hey Russel, This all sounds very weird. When you save your settings the second time, the comment link layout should change once again. Are you sure you clicked Save settings after you edited the comment link text the second time? -
Yes, I even did it again to make sure... It's not changing back to Comments [#]. I tried deactiviating the plugin and reactivating with no luck. -
Russell, Isaac was covering support for me for the past couple of days. Is this still an issue? If it is, what blog platform are you using? Thanks,
Michael -
Hey Michael,
Yes it is still an issue, I'm using Wordpress 2.6.2. -
Russell, could you please send me your plugin file? support at intensedebate dot com. We'll take a look and see what's up. Thanks -
Just now started looking at this again... I went to where i re-install plugin on my account and it's giving me a script instead of a plug-in. When I originally setup my blog it wasn't wordpress but it is now. I have a club wordpress blog and when i click re-install gives me the option to download the plug-in so it's something with KV4S.com. I thought i would try removing and re-adding the blog but i can't find where to do that. any ideas? -
I need a way to change this blog in intensedebate so that it gets the wordpress plug-in.
When i go to BlogTools>Re-Install Intense Debate i get script text instead of the wordpress plug-in download.
I can't figure out how to change it?
Any suggestions? -
Russell, I need you to email me please. Please reference this case.
Thanks! -
Michael, I can't find your email address, or a way to send you a message through this site.
What else can i do? Or you can use http://www.KV4S.com to contact me via email just go the the contact tab.
Thanks! -
Russel, try support@intensedebate.com -
My problem has been resloved thanks to Michael and his patience via email.
The problem was me not understanding the plug-in.
I was using a plug-in from another blog instead of logging onto ID and creating one for the specific blog in question.
Plus i learned if you add a blog in ID as other platforms you need to remove and re-add the blog as wordpress so you can actually download a plug-in.
I rate Intense Debate's support top notch!! -

Inappropriate?Oh crap... my long post deal is done, it worked fine... now my two newest posts (CGBlog.org) are not showing their comments link on the bottom but the others are below it. Um, what's going on here?
I’m frustrated
-
Ryan, as far as I can see the comment link is always in the same place, all the way back to your post on Sept 12. I'm viewing your blog using Firefox 3. Could you clarify a little please? Thanks! -
At the time I wrote this (19 SEP) there were two posts for that date that still don't show the comments on the front page. However, if you were to click into the post the comments are there. It's weird, and hasn't happened since, but if it does show again I'll be sure to inform the community. ~R -

Ryan, Isaac was covering support for me while I was away at the BlogWorld Expo. If this happens again please let me know. Please email me at support at intensedebate dot com and include which blog platform you're on. Also please reference this case. Thanks -
Inappropriate?I have a similar issue, I just installed IntenseDebate, but now there is NOT a comments link at all. I have selected All Posts have comments on my Blog Settings page.
What can I do? My users are not going to click on my post and then comment, I want them to be able to comment right away.
My blog is http://yourscrumhalfconnection.com

Thanks for getting in contact. What platform are you using? Is it a custom blog? -
Hey! Thanks for getting back to me, I am using Blogger. I have uninstalled the commenting system because my readers were confused.
But you can see the posts from last week do not have a comments button on the bottom left of the post. -

During the installation did you use the widget or template install? Could you please reinstall ID using the template install if you didn't? -
Thanks Neal. I'm taking a look and will let you know. -
Inappropriate?I'm having a problem. Intense Debate Comments show up on individual posts, but not on the main page. There isn't even a Comment button on the main page:

Inappropriate?I had a problem like this on my blogger page but recently fixed it. Initially I tried to install intensedebate with the widget system, but it didn't work. I then tried to upload the template data for intensedebate to edit it, which successfully added comments to the site, however there was no link to the comments on the main page, or any comment counter.
The initial widget installation method requires you to "Hide" comments in your blogger settings as well as change the "Comments Default for Posts" to "New Posts Do Not Have Comments". So, even after installing by the longer template method the comments were still "hidden". I had not switched these blogger comment settings back to "show" comments.
Once I did put the settings back to normal and did a reinstall of the template system, all was well.
I’m thankful
-
I reinstalled Intense Debate yesterday without removing it first. Now I have comments on the main page, except for one post. I can live with it. But it is pretty weird. -
Inappropriate?Hi, I'm new to intensedebate, I emailed support but got no reply.... my problem is the comment link does not appear under my latest post.... but it works fine with the older post after I installed it. Hopefully i can get an answer here....
