Comment Syncronization
Hi Jon,
I realized that when I disabled IntenseDebate, the new comments made with IntenseDebate didn't syncronized back to the blog. Is that also a bug?
How can I do the syncronization on both sides? How can I put back the comments made in IntenseDebate to my own-hosted Wordpress blog?
Best Wishes,
Arrariv

Inappropriate? The synchronization should work both ways as long as IntenseDebate is enabled. Can you email me (support@intensedebate.com) or post here the url of your blog so that I can take a look at our logs to see what the issue is/was?
Thanks, and sorry for the trouble.

Hello, I have a similar problem but I don't disabled IntenseDebate
In the last 4 comments of my blog there is no synchronization between the comments of wordpress and Intense comments.

Hello, there anyone out there? -
Inappropriate?Dear Jon,
The website's address is www.paulocoelhoblog.com
But the plugin is deactivated right now, please tell me if I need to activate for you to check the logs. I already tried to deactivate-activate to restart the syncronization process but it didn't work.
Thank you for your time.
Best Wishes,
Mustafa Suphi Yilmaz

Inappropriate?Did it not sync any of the IntenseDebate comments back to WordPress? According to our logs there were a bunch that were sent successfully around 2008-11-15 for example.
Can you clarify if none worked (And our logs are wrong somehow) or if it just didn't synchronize all of them? If not all, was it after a certain date or post or anything? Or just totally random?
Thanks. -
Inappropriate?I only found the following posts with no comments, but besides that, I can't really know the difference between both sides. I have to count numbers manually. Plus, if I enable IntenseDebate, it doesn't show up comment numbers like WP2.6 does. So, I have to count in each post. If you can easly get comment numbers for each post between 13 November and 17 November, I can check with the numbers in WPDB.
But, I certainly do know that the following posts has 0 comments right now. And I remember having comments for each of them with IntenseDebate.

I only got comments for two posts that has been posted between 13-17 November.
http://paulocoelhoblog.com/2008/11/13...
http://paulocoelhoblog.com/2008/11/14...
I also got comments between those days for our weekly posts.

So, I think It didn't syncronized all of the comments. In some point, things got wrong. But it's also common for our users to digg into old posts. So, I can't be sure if it's only those 6 posts that has no comments.
Finally, my conclusion is that it's random. Because I got comments in other posts during this period in old and new posts. There are also posted articles in the same day that some of them has comments and others don't.
Thank you!

Inappropriate?Hmm...it does seem to center around those couple dates though. We did have a bug for a little while where some comments were being sent with invalid postid's. Basically, instead of the numerical postid the comment was sent with the guid of the post as the postid. If this makes sense to you, can you look in your WP database and see if any of the postid on comments are non-numerical? If this makes no sense, just ignore it :-)
In either case, I'll look into seeing if I can find a nice way to re-sync those comments back to you.
Sorry for the trouble. -
Inappropriate?Dear Jon,
As you said, after checking the database comments table, i found 68 comments with comment_post_ID = '0'
So, the syncronization did worked but WP didn't received correct post_ID's.
Btw, I checked all the comments on November; the rest is ok.
Do you want me to sent you those 68 comments by email?
Thanks for your help!
I’m thankful
