Comments stopped syncing into wordpress
For some reason, my ID comments have stopped syncing back into wordpress on my blog http://dbzer0.com since a while now. The plugin settings do not show any error. The syncing does work on other wordpres sites in the same server.

Inappropriate?I checked our DB logs and there were some issues when trying to ping your servers for a bit. Everything seems to be up and running as it should now though. Please let me know if this occurs again.
We are currently working on a way to resend a sync for the comments that didn't make it in. However at this time we don't have a nice way of doing it. We will soon.

So all the comments that were not synced until now are not going to be synced at all? -
We'll get them synced eventually. Just not immediately. We're fine tuning the process on our end. Sorry for the inconvenience. In the end we're working to make sure that ever comment made in IDC is in your DB as well.

It's not a problem really, just clarifying. My raw wp comments will be unreadable anyway and I don't plan to move away from IDC any time soon. I can wait

Inappropriate?I'm having the same problem. I can see the comments on the site, but they do not show up inside my WP dashboard. If I deactivate IDC then those comments are removed from the post altogether.

Inappropriate?I'm so glad to know I'm not the only one with this problem ... same issue about trying to ping my server. I've been begging for a way to export my comments back to wordpress - I tried the old plugin w/ the old-fashioned export command, and it won't work (errors) ... I can't find any instructions on how to use the XML dump, and not getting answers on my ticket or emails.

Inappropriate?Hi @LiewCF, it is definitely *supposed* to be 2-way sync, so if you're not seeing comments get synced back to WP then something is going wrong.
That being said, looking at a recent post with comments (e.g. http://www.liewcf.com/archives/2009/0... ) I can see that the comments do appear to be syncing back to WordPress, because they are showing up in the source of the page (between noscript tags).
Perhaps they just took a little while to sync back? It's not immediate, and can sometimes take a few minutes to get back to WordPress.1 Comment Add a comment

I think I did double comment moderation for the post...
Here is another example: http://www.liewcf.com/archives/2009/0... , the latest comment by d0m "does it come with the filter" was the comment I approved on IntenseDebate. However, the wordpress dashboard and "Edit Comments" (not IntenseDebate) showed that it is still "pending" (screenshot: http://img.skitch.com/20090721-twu4ad...) -
Inappropriate?Did your comment ever sync LiewCF? It's possible that if you moderated the comment a couple of times back and forth quickly, then it would end up syncing in a way that you didn't expect perhaps?

i did moderate comments at both side (wordpress & intenseDebate) because I don't see the comments sync. What should be the correct comment moderation work flow like? I am currently stick with IntenseDebate comment moderation, and ignore pending comments on wordpress.

Inappropriate?You should generally pick either WordPress or IntenseDebate moderation, and just use that. Personally, I use either ID's email notifications to moderate (reply with "spam" to spam something, or "delete" to delete it etc), or I use the IntenseDebate Enhanced Comment Moderation option, so that my Comments page within wp-admin is actually powered by IntenseDebate.
To avoid confusion, I also remove the "Recent Comments" panel from my WordPress dashboard by changing the "Screen Options" (top right of that page).
