Comments synced back have the wrong timestamp

I received a comment from a user in Japan and I posted a response a few hours later in Chicago. In my local wordpress db, the order of the comments is reversed.

It appears that intenseDebate isn't taking into account the timezone specified on the wordpress site. In intenseDebate, everything is stamped correctly - I didn't notice until I checked wordpress' native comment moderation screen.
