Facebook Connect doesn't show up on my blog
I added the Facebook API key, connect URL and Base domain. However there's still no Facebook Connect option on my blog (tested from a browser where I'm not logged in to IntenseDebate). Do I need to do anything on my blog as well?

What's your URL George?
Please check your blog settings. If you're requiring all users to create an account to comment then Facebook Connect will not work. Currently Twitter and Facebook Connect are guest commenting features so they won't show up if you're requiring commenters to signup for an account. We're working on this option, but no ETA at the moment.
Thanks for your patience,
Michael

I am having the same issue on Desertstandard.com -
Inappropriate?well, I see the FB Connect Button and I can connect with FB, but when I try to send a comment, I always get the error-message: "Error!
Unable to validate your session. Please try again in a moment."
EDIT:
Now it worked, I successfully left a comment for "Blogg fra Symbian"
I’m happy

Inappropriate?Thanks for your help quitzlipochtli,
Actually the solution was that the Facebook Connect icon DOES NOT show up in Internet Explorer (I used IE just to check since I was logged into IntenseDebate with Chrome).
So Facebook Connect is not supported in IE with IntenseDebate it looks like.
I’m sad

What version of IE are you using? Thanks. -
I'm using IE8 on Windows 7. I can confirm that it doesn't work with IE6 on Windows Server 2003 either. -
Inappropriate?is there a solution for this? im using the default theme for my blogger just to test intense debate out. but im having zero luck with it. When ever i enable Facebook connect the icon only shows up on firefox and IE but not chrome on my test blog (http://testcuriousglenn.blogspot.com). and I so i tryed www.eriknude.com and went on chrome but his facebook connnect button actualy shows up.
obviusly this isnt a browser compatability issue since his facebook button shows up on my chrome when mine only shows up on ie and firefox
another thing... my page doesnt even show up on chrome when i enable the facebook api, and yet his does... what am i doing wrong here
I’m sad

Can you please check and make sure that you've set your Connect URL and Base domain correctly? The Connect URL should be http://testcuriousglenn.blogspot.com and the base domain should be testcuriousglenn.blogspot.com. Thanks for your patience. -
Inappropriate?@ eriknude - I can confirm that, no FB Connect Button with IE (8 in my case)
-
Are you able to access it in IE7? Please give it a try if you still have IE7 that is. Thanks -
sorry, I've only one computer and that is with IE8 -
Inappropriate?I am also having difficulties with Facebook Connect.
I have tried multiple times, and always the same result, no icon and erros on the page.

Here Jeremy, I see that you have resolved the Facebook Connect issue on your site. Can you give us some insight on what you did? -
Inappropriate?@halfacat
looks like you only allow comments from users that have an IntenseDebate account (or user that sign up to ID), therefore you have no FB Connect. -
Inappropriate?I'm lost and I have the same problem. Facebook Connect isn't showing up.

I have a similar problem and thought I set a requirement for every user to register but I have double checked and the only option on is "Requires email and name"

Unfortunately Facebook Connect currently isn't compatible with that commenting setting (requiring users to create an ID account). Facebook Connect, as well as Twitter Sign-in, are currently treated the same way as our guest comments since we do not have any profile information for the commenters (they don't have an ID profile). We're aware that this isn't ideal and this is on our dev list to enhance. I apologize for the inconvenience. If you change your settings to allow guest posting then Facebook Connect will be available. -
George, I just took a look and Facebook Connect and Twitter Sign-In are both showing up. What web browser are you using? -
Inappropriate?Firefox
