How do I change comment moderation?
I'm wondering how to change moderation settings for IntenseDebate. At present, every single comment gets sent to moderation, which is really, really annoying. Inside my WP admin panel I've set IntenseDebate's settings to use WP's comment moderation, and yet IntenseDebate still forces all comments into a moderation queue. I've gone into my IntenseDebate settings and made sure that it is *not* set to moderate all comments, and it *is* set so that people who have been approved before do not need to be moderated, and yet it *still* forces all comments into moderation.
How do I get this sorted so that comments made by people who have been approved no longer need to wait for moderation? I'd prefer to do it inside my WP admin panel too, as there's no point at all in needing to open another tab just to moderate comments.

Inappropriate? Thanks for getting in contact. Please visit http://intensedebate.com to access your account. Login > select the tab named after your blog > select Settings and Layout > select the Moderation tab in the sidebar. Please let me know if you have any questions. If you do, please provide me with your URL.
Thanks,

Inappropriate?Followed all steps. Moderate all comments is *not* checked. All comments are still being moderated through IntenseDebate. I don't want to make every commenter register with IntenseDebate. I just want to moderate comments from *new* users, not every single one.
My WP is at: http://sophrosyne.radical.r30.net/
I’m indifferent

Inappropriate?Ok, now people are making comments, all of them are being moderated, and when approved, they still aren't showing up in my blog. I'm not sure what's broken with my install of IntenseDebate, but this either needs to be sorted or I'm going to deactivate the plugin. Yesterday IntenseDebate was down for a few hours, and during that time no one was able to make comments at all. I'm struggling to see how this plugin is actually helping right now.
I’m frustrated

Okay, *now* they're showing up... Is IntenseDebate commonly this buggy? -
Inappropriate? Now comments that *have* been moderated aren't showing up. When the page loads it shows the wrong number of comments have been made, and when you click to see the comments there's nothing there - even though it says there are comments. This is really, *really* frustrating.
IntenseDebate looks like a really functional plugin, but this just ain't cool.

Inappropriate?Hi there, would you be able to please provide a URL (or a couple) to specific posts where this is happening? I can see that you have some comments on your posts, and on the ones I specifically checked it looks like they've also been synced back to WordPress.
Thanks,

Inappropriate?Hi Beau, thanks for the assistance! It seems like it's gotten better today - but then I haven't gotten many comments today, so maybe it's just hiding. I've only been using IntenseDebate for a week or so and it's never been glitchy like yesterday, so maybe it was just a hiccup.
However, I'd still like to set it so that every comment doesn't get sent to IntenseDebate's moderation queue. Is that possible? I'd like to set it so that people who get approved once don't have to be moderated again.
Again, cheers for the assistance!
I’m unsure
-
Inappropriate? You should be able to get that working by going to the Settings > Moderation options for your site (on intensedebate.com), then checking the box next to "Automatically approve comments..." "...written by IntenseDebate users who have previously posted a comment that was approved".
Cheers!

Hi Beau, cheers for the assistance! I've already got that box checked, but it still sends all comments into moderation. I'm guessing that's partly because the box is for all "IntenseDebate users", and not "all users who have previously posted a comment that was approved". I don't want to make people register with IntenseDebate if they don't need to. I'd just like for them to be able to make comments easily, and to moderate the *first* comment made by new users. That's the way my WP was working before I installed IntenseDebate, but afterwords everything went into IntenseDebate's moderation queue.
Also, inside my WP admin panel I've set "commend moderation" to use "WP standard moderation".
Even still everything is going to IntenseDebate for moderation. -
Inappropriate?Ah, you're right. That setting only applies to IntenseDebate registered users. We're working on improving the way our moderation works so that it handles "anonymous" users better, but don't have this rolled out yet.
When you're using ID it actually bypasses the moderation *rules* in WP, that setting in the ID plugin Settings is just controlling which interface you access (the built in WordPress one, or the enhanced IntenseDebate one).
