Inappropriate? Thanks for getting in contact. Unfortunately we do not delete accounts. However you can remove all of your information in your profile and change your email address at http://intensedebate.com/editprofile. I apologize for the inconvenience.
Kind regards,
Michael -
Inappropriate? Why IntenseDebate website is *NOT* deleting my account and retaining all my personal info??
Can you show me the legal disclosure on this?
I’m frustrated
-
You can change the info to anything you'd like just as long as there is some info in the fields. If you'd like please feel free to email me at support@intensedebate.com and I'll do it for you.
All the best,
Michael -
Inappropriate?I'd like to explain this a little better. We do not have a nice way of deleting accounts from our database.
But, that doesn't mean that you cannot remove your personal information from your account. If you'd like you can go into your account at http://intensedebate.com and edit your profile and remove all of your personal information and swap it out with fake information.
So what does this mean?
At any time you can edit your profile at http://intensedebate.com/editprofile and change your:
* username from "michael" to "deleted"
* display name from "Michael Koenig" to "deleted"
* email address from "michael@gmail.com" to "deleted@gmail.com"
We will no longer have your information. We do not store your old profile info once it's changed.
Sorry for the confusion and I hope that answers the question. If you have any additional ones please feel free to email me at support@intensedebate.com. -
Inappropriate?Apart from the fact that now, with the arrival of potential-drenched plugin platform, is a strange time for anyone to be leaving ID, why not just do this guy a favor if it means so much to him and delete his entry in the database?
Given that he can already remove all his personal details, deletion is pretty meaningless but, Hell, this is the sort of odd issue that sorta, kinda, from-a-distance looks like a privacy issue, you don't want that to grow legs and have some sort of Automattic-are-evil-and-want-your-data meme to start floating around.
I totally get why you have included a quick-n-easy deletion button, far more people would use it accidentally, but you could probably do this as a one-off for this guy.
I’m glad my mental issues don't extend quite as far getting paranoid about the thousands of online accounts I've abandoned over the years.

Inappropriate?production/s3_images/42497/kopete_inline.png" alt="" />Man the whole world has got my personal info!
But I agree you should have your account deleted, this sounds suspiciously familiar to the FaceBook fiasco.
Everybody wants’ a piece of you. Chilli Chili Chilli

Inappropriate?Oh, c'mon, there's nothing suspicious going on here, they simply haven't implemented an account delete feature because it isn't something that the vast majority of users will never need or ask for.
I’m feeling a little production/s3_images/42497/kopete_inline.png" alt="" /> today.

Inappropriate?Michael Koenig:
Two of my comments from Mar 12-13 are removed from this thread. Why?
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?Michael Koenig:
With resp to your email: The issue if not about the functionality and features of the product, rather in spite of it.
Still waiting for the clarification.
I’m frustrated
