I think I broke IntenseDebate.
I installed it, but shortly afterward, every file on my site's server vanished. I called my host and luckily they were able to restore it. Not sure if it was IntenseDebate, but I uninstalled anyway. Well, now I'm ready to give it another shot and install again, but now I can't log into IntenseDebate from my Wordpress profile. I keep getting a 505 error when I put my intensedebate name and pw in.

Inappropriate?Very sorry to hear about your trouble. I'm not sure what would be causing a 505 error on registration. Has anything in your PHP configuration changed? Do you have any other plugins that weren't active in your previous attempt?
-
Inappropriate?Nothing new with the PHP config. I don't even know what that is, to be honest. No new plugins either. When I click login it tries to take me to http://albotas.com/wp-admin/profile.p... and I get this:
Error 500 - Internal server error
An internal server error has occured!
Please try again later. -
Inappropriate?Do you know how I could change my PHP configuration? ANy help would be excellent.
I’m still stuck.

Inappropriate?Okay, I just got off the phone with my hosting service and they fixed everything for me. They said some jibberish about adding a file that allowed connection to the intense debate server and they also parsed my PHP from PHP4 to PHP5... whatever that means. So yeah, problem solved!!!
I’m Happy!!!

Inappropriate?Who is your host? I'm with 1and1 and just started getting this error too.
-
Mine was 1and1 as well. I had to call them and ask them to allow intensedebate.com to have permission to access the files on my server. -
Inappropriate?I ended up adding a php.ini file to the root of my wp-admin blog directory with the line:
memory=20mb
And a .htaccess file with some code which specifies all php engines use php5 instead of the possible apache default of php4.
Many others who had issues getting 1and1 to support them as successfully as you did found either or both of these solutions to work.
I didn't test one or the other individually, but found the system worked OK after putting both in.
I’m confident
