IntenseDebate & Akismet : Impossible Comment Moderation
Dear DevTeam,
Your moderation is far away to be better than Wordpress classic moderation.
You wrote : "Moderate and reply to IntenseDebate comments from your WordPress admin panel using our custom moderation page that mirrors the WordPress page that you're already used to. The only difference is the extra IntenseDebate zest we've added by including IntenseDebate avatars, reputation points, profile links and all of our other metadata gravy that you'll love."
But, when you have Akismet installed ( and you have to use Akismet if you want to be spam-free, kudos to Akismet ), you can't see spam-comments. This is very important, giving that Akismet is very bad-ass to catch the spam, and it catches good comments sometimes.
Another thing, does IntenseDebate add my own comments that I left in my blog to my IntenseDebate account? For example, if a user was already left tens of comments in my blog, and he just register, can he be able to see his old comments in his profile? I hope this is possible as IntenseDebate sync all the comments with Wordpress DB. This shouldn't be a problem, right?
Best Wishes,
Mustafa Suphi Yilmaz

Inappropriate? You can still see the old moderation by enabling it from the Intense Debate plugin settings. Alternatively, click on the "### Spam" (where ### is a number) link in your sidebar to det there.
Intense debate does not put comments from users into their IDC profile (although it's been requested) -
Inappropriate?Yes, that was my temporary solution, but now comments that I moderate in the blog's comment system doesn't approve inside IDC. Therefore, the new comments doesn't show up. I realized that and find a solution : I approved the same comments inside IDC profile again. I don't understand the reason to have sync which doesn't work.
I went back to the IntenseDebate commenting system.
But, spam control link doesn't work properly.

There are good comments that IDC thinks it's spam. When I try to "Not Spam" them, i got the following error in a blank page : "No input file specified. "
http://www.intensedebate.com/commentN...
The concerning user is a registered IDC user : http://www.intensedebate.com/people/J...
Plus, this user has at least 5 comments approved. I don't understand.
How can I access Akismet comments when I have IntenseDebate commenting system on?
I’m sad

Inappropriate? We're aware that the "spam" tab is a missing feature in our current implementation of the WP moderation page. We're currently working to fix this and hope to have it available soon.
As for the old comments being added to a user account, currently there isn't a way to do this. We are planning to add this capability soon though and users will be able to retroactively claim the comments for their profile (so comments added now will be available to add when this is fully implemented). I realize this doesn't solve the problem immediately, but we plan to correct this short coming soon.
And lastly, for the "not spam" error, I'm on it...this is clearly a bug.
Sorry for the trouble. -
Inappropriate?Hi Jon,
I found another problem. I realized that when I disabled IntenseDebate, the new comments made with IntenseDebate didn't syncronized back to the blog. Is that also a bug? How can I do the syncronization on both sides?
Because I want to wait you guys until you include Seesmic and fix all those bugs including full Akismet support. And also I realized more bugs like comments appearing in a 0 comment post and comments going to void. When I approve some comments, I can't see them in the blog anymore, nor in IntenseDebate.
Best Wishes,
Arrariv

Inappropriate?Well, no one seems to respond. I'll open more threads. Maybe my problems are not heard or impossible to respond.
I’m confused
