Longer Comments
Hello, the fact that longer comments time out the server is really annoying because a lot of people write comments and then loose them and are too lazy to write it again (understandably!!!).
PLEASE fix this quickly by either:
1) making sure that even longer comments go throught the server or
2) finding out how long a comment can be to go through the server and making this a limit, and not letting people even write longer than this before posting so that they already know they need to divide the comment in a few parts.

Inappropriate?Hi Dan. I just responded to your other post about this.
Cheers,

Inappropriate?Hello
I just tested it again and it worked this time.. I got many complaints about it from commenters though
I am emailing them the list of questions you asked in order to forward it to you -
Great, thanks Dan. -
Inappropriate?ITs in Internet Explorer. The error is:
"Oops
There has been a connection error. The connection has timed out.
"
Also in Internet Explorer, I just realized, the number of comments does not show up on the main page! (in firefox it's fine)
my website is http://www.tzipiyah.com
I’m frustrated

Thanks for reporting this. Did you just now experience this after you tested it again 11 minutes ago? What blog platform are you using? -
Inappropriate? On firefox, I never had problems. On Explorer, my commenters had comments since I stalled ID and I just had that same error when testing it now (you can test it yourself to see :-) )
As for the platform, it's Blogger
I’m anxious

Could you please send us your blog template? We'll take a look and see what's up. Please email me at support@intensedebate.com -
Inappropriate?Sure, please let me know how long I should expect to wait for an answer.
-
Sorry, I can't give you an ETA. It depends if we can diagnose the problem and find a proper solution. We'll try to get it done ASAP, but it could take longer. Thanks for your patience. -
Inappropriate?Oh, and please confirm the receipt of my template :-)
-
I haven't received it yet. -
Will you let me know when you do receive it? -
Dan I still haven't received it. Could you please try sending it to michael@intensedebatet.com? -
Received. It was being held up my spam filter for some reason. We'll take a look and see what we can do. -
Inappropriate?Any news on my question? It's been 4 days
-
Thanks for following-up Dan. We're working on it. I'll keep you posted. Thanks for your patience. Cheers -
Inappropriate?I have since made a good number of changes to my template. Would it be better for me to send u a new one or would the "fix" be easy for me to incorporate into my current template?
-
Yeah, that would be best. Could you please send it my way? Thanks Dan -

Inappropriate?Man, I'm having a ton of issues with Get Satisfaction. Posting comments are hanging and not working. I think I'll contact them.
I’m understanding what it's like to be frustrated.

Inappropriate?Reading above I still can't find my answer... for those who need to post longer comments, we have a few on CGBlog.org, is there any way to get longer comment functionality? I'm not having connection problems, we just need the ability to post longer comments.
I’m frustrated

Ryan, what happens when long comments are posted? How long are they? Can you provide me with a link to a specific instance of this? Thanks. -
Inappropriate?Michael,
It's odd, as of now it seems to be working. This was happening yesterday to me while I was at work. They run XP, and I'm at home on my Mac. It seem's to be fine from here, but I'll check again Friday morning when I get to work.
What was coming up was a message saying to break the comment into two parts, the comment itself didn't have to be anymore than say 20-25 lines when it was doing this. Again, I'll check on Friday.
Thanks for the response.
I’m undecided
