Glad to hear it worked. I agree that the referral url should work, I honestly didn't know it didn't till now, but I'll look into it.
And the claiming different email addresses is something we've considered as well and we're working on.
Thanks for the feedback and sorry for the trouble. Please let me know if I can help with anything else.

Alright...so I think I found the problem. When you store the openid in your profile you put in the url that redirects to your openid provider, but when we get it back we get the openid provider url (which is what we try to log you in w/) since there isn't an account it creates one for you.
Can you try using the provider url for me, just for my own peace of mind? (ie change the openid in your profile to the url that it's redirected to instead)
That should help me to hunt down the problem.

Alright, try to login w/ OpenID again.
And for my own curiosity you're able to post comments w/out OpenID fine, correct?

Ok, I dumped all the comments from the different accounts to the 500 one. It does not have an openid associated with it at the moment (which might've been the problem from the start). You can add it by going to http://www.intensedebate.com/editprofile while you're logged in as that user. Also, fyi, you used a gmail account to sign up for that account.
Let me know if this fixes it for you.

Just for clarification we're talking about the same user here, right?

Wow...it was pretty mucky. I think I might've found the problem though. Can you try logging out and back in to confirm?

Hey... I posted a comment on http://www.sparkwash.com/stuff-for-sale/ using Safari 3 for Mac, and it worked well. I signed in using a myopenid.com account.
Are you still seeing those problems? I'm kind of clueless at this point.

I'm afraid I don't know what to tell you. I use myopenid.com as well and have no problems. Does it always happen? What browser are you in?

Can you give me a link? I tried to recreate your problem on my blog which uses wordpress and I was unable to. Also, maybe include which openID provider you use in case that is relevant.

Inappropriate?You bet.
The page is:
sparkwash.com/stuff-for-sale/
The openID provider is:
myopenid.com
Thanks! -

Inappropriate?I saw... I also tried. I tried once anon-style and it worked, and I tried again using OpenID and it only kindof worked. I got two errors on submission, one for Invalid Blogid and one for Invalid type something. I got a notification that a new comment was posted, but it never showed up on the page.
Very confusing.
I’m confused
-
Inappropriate? It might have something to do with how my ID profile is set up, it seems totally FUBAR right now, when I log in I don't see any of my blog info, and my profile's not filed out anymore. Also, I keep getting those authorize your account emails.
I think I broke it.
I’m embarrassed

By the way, thanks for the awesome support here! -

Inappropriate?Hmm... I think that's me. When I login with my OpenId though, I get user 4692.
And when I log in with my email address, I get user 500.
I've created a monster!
User 500 is the right one, I don't know where 2969 came from, and I think I made 4692 on accident.
Can you merge them? -
Inappropriate?Hmm, interesting. 2969 seems to be me, but 500 is the real me. When I log in with my OpenId I get 4692.
Yikes. Can we merge them? -

Inappropriate?Getting closer...
When I add my openid info, and try to log in using OpenID, I get 4696 still.
Also, when trying to post comments, I get Invalid BlogpostID. 1
But everything good is on my 500 profile!
-

Inappropriate?Error!
Login failed.
(When I try to log in on my page.) -
Inappropriate?Posting a comment using OpenID now returns "Invalid blogpostid. 1"
I also got the "Welcome to Intense Debate" email -

Inappropriate?Brilliant! It works now!
I can Log in with my OpenID (both the referral URL and the direct URL), and with my email address. All I had to do is put the direct OpenID url in my ID profile.
Thanks so much Jon and Isaac for your help.
It would be nice if the referral url would work in the profile setup pages, and it would be helpful if users could "claim" all their email addresses as well.
Thanks so much!
I’m elated, thankful

Inappropriate?Only remaining issue is that the last few comments posted must be assigned to a stray profile, because they're not showing up on user 500's account.
-
Inappropriate?New manifestation of same problem, now the same comments show on every page! Oh noes!
I’m amused
-
Inappropriate? It appears that the script src tag is not being output correctly. For example, it's outputting "&postid" instead of "&postid". I'm not sure if there's a problem with your IntenseDebate plugin or if something else is conflicting with it.
If you'd like I can look over your plugin to make sure it's setup properly. Just send it to me at jon<at>intensedebate<dot>com.
Hope this helps.</dot></at>
