Problem with Wordpress 2.8
The IntenseDebate plugin breaks the administration pages in my Wordpress 2.8 install (works well in the public blog, but it renders the admin unusable). Is there a fix?
Specifically, most of the javascript of the admin pages doesn't work anymore when the plugin is activated.

Inappropriate?I apologize for the delay. ID isn't compatible with 2.8 yet. However we're looking into this to see what the issue is.
Thanks for your patience,

Inappropriate?Hi Sebastien,
I've just installed a copy of the latest WordPress trunk (which will become 2.8 tomorrow), and I don't see any problems.
Can you let us know some specific examples of things that are broken? Also, are you using other plugins as well? Sometimes plugins can clash with each other and cause problems.
Thanks!
Beau

Inappropriate?I upgraded to wordpress 2.8 this morning and had this problem. The specifics include:
- Only the left half of the Dashboard loads
- Admin dropdown arrow links ("Posts" or "Tools" for example") do not work. You have to click on the word "posts" itself to get the threaded menu options below it.
- "Quick Edit" option on posts doesn't work
- Inserting an image from the gallery of uploaded images doesn't work... clicking the "show" button does not expand the properties of each image, it just moves the admin page up/down by about an inch.
I hadn't noticed anything other than the above, but if I discover anything else I'll let you know. :)
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?I have the same problems :(
- Menu doesn't arrows don't work
- Widgets aren't draggable and their down arrow doesn't work either
- Most JS links refresh the page
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?Beau,
I've experienced the same issues as above, and each time, unloading the ID plugin has solved the problem immediately. It appears as though the JS for the admin pages isn't loading properly. Things mentioned above, like Quick Edit and the like, don't work, and even things like the mouseover menus when you have a collapsed nav panel don't appear.
I just went ahead and deactivated every plugin and then turned on ID 2.1.1; the problem happened immediately upon refresh of the page.
I’m pitching in

Inappropriate? Thanks everyone for reporting these issues. I'm working on some fixes for these problems and we'll put up a new version of the plugin as soon as it's available (hopefully today or tomorrow if things go well).
I’m silly (for not having this fixed before 2.8 came out!)
-
Inappropriate?Yes you are silly @beaulebens for not having this fixed before 2.8 came out!
I’m confused
-
Inappropriate?Just letting you all know that I've found a fix for this, I'm just doing some more testing before releasing an update of the plugin that rolls this and some other updates into one, rather than make you all update again in a few days. I'll probably upload the new version tomorrow morning (Pacific time, US)
I’m happy
-
Thanks for checking into this and producing a fix so quickly. If you could use another hand testing, I'd be happy to do so. -
Hi @beaulebens what is the status on the update? i am sure you are busy working on it but if you can update us what is going on would be great again thank you for fixing it. -
Inappropriate? You make me happy mister @beaulebens please keep me posted again thank you guys for getting on this and fast responds
I’m thankful

Inappropriate?I seem to only have this problem with Safari 4. Firefox works correctly in my admin area. Weird.
-
Inappropriate? With so much testing to do on this one (there's a lot of changes to the code, as you'll see in the announcement post), I'm delaying the release until tomorrow. You'll get a notification update in WordPress, and this version is compatible with WP2.5+ and WPMU2.6+
Sorry for the slight delay, but it'll be worth the wait ;)
I’m excited to get this version in your hands

Inappropriate?ok, but.. is there some quick dirty fix in the meanwhile? something like: disable ID in every admin page except it's own (for me, disable ID while on widgets page should be enought)
I’m confident
-
Inappropriate?ok, i wrote it by my self. here is my quick-dirty-fix:
just put this line of code at the end of intensedebate.php (just before the php closing tag)
this will disable some intensedebate javascript from every admin page except his own pages
I’m happy
-
Inappropriate?New version is now available everyone! Read about it here: http://blog.intensedebate.com/2009/06... and you should have an upgrade notice within WordPress to install automatically.
I’m happy

Do you have the same issues as described above with WP 2.8? Could post a screenshot? What other plugins do you use? -

Have you tried clearing the cache of your browser, just in case it's still loading the old files somehow? Here's some details on how to do that: http://support.wordpress.com/browser-... -
Inappropriate?Works for me I'm using Safari 4 and Firefox beta both on OSX thanks for the update. Hope this will never happen again since you are part of the Automattic who also publishes wordpress.
I’m happy
-
Inappropriate? Thanks @beaulebens! Intense debate is the best plugin ever.
I’m happy the problem is solved
-
Inappropriate?Fixed the widget issue...I'm thrilled.
