Why do I get double (repeated) "Comments (0)"?
Wordpress 2.5. In the index, inside the posting loop, the call to comments is showing this: "Comments (0)Comments (0)".
Check out http://clarionfolk.com for the problem, and then if you click on a post, the single "Comments (0)" is shown. Exactly the same code is called each time, although in different contexts obviously.

Inappropriate? Thanks for your patience. We've figured out what's going on. You've got two comment links per post - one located at the top and one at the bottom. Currently we don't support this, so the links are getting combined (weird...I know).
Would you mind removing one the two links, either in the header or footer of your posts? This should fix the problem.
Thanks,
Michael

Inappropriate?Michael,
Howdy! Cheers for the response. I don't mind getting rid of one of them. Will report back shortly.

Inappropriate?Fixed! Cheers muchly. Had forgotten I'd put the second comment line in. Was more for a gimick (the text was to do with the Clarion language), which is made redundant by the IntenseDebate plugin anyway.
Cheers!
I’m happy

Inappropriate?Awesome to hear Stu! Glad this all worked out for you. We'd love it if you gave us some blog love and put up a post about your experience with us.
Hope you don't mind this request.
Cheers,

Thanks Stu! Much appreciated! -
Inappropriate?Actually I was stumped for awhile too, until I looked at the "advanced options" for the code (I used the generic javascript code instead of the cookie-cutter blogger/wordpress ones).
Specifically, I added the correct values to idcomments_post_id, and idcomments_post_url variables and I don't get repeated "Comments(0)" anymore, regardless of how many comment links I have on a single page. -
Inappropriate?I have this same problem. I choose to use Intense Debate for my old comments too. Well, it's not working on every old comments I have had and for those working, the same comments are repeated about 5 times. I don't want manually delete those comments by hand, because it would take too long. What can I do?
I’m frustrated

And the old comments do not have the commenter's name. -
Thanks for reporting this. Which blog platform are you using (blogger, wordpress)? We'll be able to get to the bottom of this. Thanks for your patience. -
I use Blogger. -

Could you please forward us your blog template with IntenseDebate installed? We'll take a look and see what's going on. Also, assuming ID is as it should be, the most likely course of action will be for us to delete all of the comments you imported (from IntenseDebate) and then have you reimport your old comments once we have removed them. Please email me at support@intensedebate.com. Thanks
