Why does the automatic login not work?
when I click on the comments area I see the login for intense debate. To bypass this issue I then have to click on another area, and then click on the comments section again and the second time it logs me in....what gives?

Inappropriate? Is your account connected in WordPress? You need to go to your profile within wp-admin and make sure that you're connected to your IntenseDebate account.
Also, make sure that "Third party cookies" are enabled in your web browser. In Firefox that's Preferences > Privacy > Accept third party cookies. In Safari it's Security > Accept Cookies > Always.
Hope that helps, if not please let me know the URL to your website plus what web browser and operating system you're using.
Thanks! -
Inappropriate?you missing my point. when I log into my website through the DASHBOARD I can see/ reply to commenters. When I click on the comments in my dashboard the 1st time it ask for a login, when I click away on a different area and then click BACK on comments it then displays.
problem is NOT with browser...same session same login...different item in the dashboard. -
Inappropriate? What browser and version are you using? I haven't seen or heard anyone report this happening before, so it's quite strange!
-
Beau, you've got three threads reporting the same issue here. Not heard of it before? -
Inappropriate?FF 3.5.3, IE 8, version does not matter Windows 7 , Windows Vista, Windows XP PRo SP3.
Happens every time I try to view any comment
Step 1 See there is a comment on the Dashboard ( I have another problem pending with unable to approve comments)
Step 2 Click comments...see the Intensedebate login box ( within the WP dashboard)
Step 3 click any other item on the left side..(links for example)
Step 4 Click on comments again this time I see comments... -
Inappropriate?OK, I think I'm following what's happening, but I'm afraid I've never heard of something quite like that happening. You say it happens in different browsers, so it doesn't seem like it's a browser setting. Also apparently 3 different operating systems, so it's not something wrong there.
Is there any chance you have some strange kind of firewall configuration or other restriction on your internet connection? Are you able to try doing this on your blog, but from a computer that's connected from somewhere else (at a friend's house, or from work perhaps?). I'm just trying to figure out what's causing this to see if we can fix it.
Thanks for your patience.

Inappropriate?Beyond 'normal' security precautions ( and I admit I take MANY) the problem seems to be with the linking between ID and my site. I do run AskApache, but I have always run it on my blog. The problem is I do get comments and rather than click 'commets' click something else, and then click comments again is just a PITA. I try to do this from home, from work, from a relatives computer etc. The problem exists between the lack of 'holding' an initial login to ID. Not with the disparate systems and browsers I am using. I reset askapache, nothing. I went through mod by mod ..nothing. Please close this and I will deal with the minor annoyance. Sorry to be a pain.
I’m undecided
