A New Quicken for Mac
If your a Quicken user and a Mac user your screwed. Quicken for Mac 2007 sucks. So much of what is in the Windows version is missing. Much of what is in the Mac version does not always work. The database crashes. Balances do not add up and no one knows if there will be another better version coming out for the Mac. And what makes this worse is that there are many mac personal finance programs out there but so far they all have the appearance of being coded by a 8 year old. Goofy interfaces and difficult data entry and yet one the displays a huge icon for each transaction. Just garbage. Intuit needs to get on the ball or someone a professional person with bookkeeping experience need to step up to the plate and create a usable program to replace quicken. Hint: Make it look as much like quicken as you can but make it work and be configurable.

Inappropriate?Hi Jellicoe. I'm sorry that you've had a poor experience with our Mac 2007 product. However, change is just around the corner. We have a brand new Quicken product coming out for Mac this winter. It's designed from the ground up for Leopard.
You can find out more and sign up for beta testing at: http://quicken.intuit.com/personal-fi...
I've also included a screenshot of the financial overview screen.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Thanks!

Inappropriate? You say coming out this winter can you be more specific as to which month? I know a lot of people are getting tired of the old quicken for macs and would like to see a new one...
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?Intuit really needs to work on it's reputation with it's customer base. So much damage has been done, and not just to Mac users, who really have taken the brunt of Intuit's failing customer service and program development problems. As to the new from the bottom up product coming out this winter. This does not seem probable as I have signed up for beta testing some time ago and have yet to hear anything. Is this more vaporware? But what I can not understand is why someone has not developed a true quicken killer for the Mac users who understandably have given up any hope with Intuit. So much damage has been inflicted when so little effort would have avoided this in the first place.

Inappropriate?TadMilbourn,
While I was pleased to get a reply from Intuit about the new software due this Winter? It would have been helpful if the link you provided took me to a page with information on this new product. The link takes me to a Quicken 2007 page and the link to the new product is broken.
This is just another reason why customers no longer trusts Intuit to do even the simplest tasks much less produce a working piece of software.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?Hey Jellicoe,
I just tried the link above and it went right to the Quicken Financial Life page. I also saw that you made a similar comment in the Quicken Community forums. I've copied the response from there as that will also get you to the appropriate page.
Quicken Financial Life Page
OR
Go to Quicken Web Site
Click on Products and Services at the top of this page. Then look for New! Financial Quicken Life for Mac. Click on it and read.
The first round of beta started on October 3rd. There will be subsequent rounds and you may get invited. I'm sorry that you may have signed up awhile ago and have not received much communication from Intuit. I've passed along that feedback to the Quicken Mac team.
I've also not heard a more specific date than winter, but will post on this forum as soon as I find out. Thank you for your continued interest and let me know if you have any other questions.

i'm a student and the online doesnt cut it to what i need to be able to use it for my budget and work that with my loans. unfortunately there's no great solution except quicken PC... but i am trying to avoid having to run windows within mac
I’m sad

Inappropriate?I'm a long-time Quicken user; moved to a Mac 6 years ago. Have been, as others, completely frustrated by Intuit's Mac products.
The ONLY way QFLM will be accepted by the Mac community is full feature parity with the Windows version. Period. "Features" (read: fluff) like cover-flow are not important. Please read that six times Intuit. The only thing Mac users want is functionality. That shouldn't be a difficult concept to grasp but experience with the Mac products from Intuit demonstrates differently.
I’m unimpressed

Inappropriate? Is there really a person out there that is really beta testing this new version of Quicken? If so speak up and give us hope that THERE REALLY IS a new version of Quicken for the Mac...
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?Well Quicken Financial Life is now slated for Summer of 2009. So that means Winter of 2009 for an update web page to indicate an even later release date.
Looking forward for Quicken Financial Life 2011
I’m Not Surprised Anymore

Inappropriate?I switched from a PC to a Mac which I love. I have been a Quicken user for many, many years so I bought 2007 Quicken for the Mac. What a nightmare. It totally sucks. After two months, I am bailing and going back to Quicken on a PC.

Inappropriate?I'm new to Mac....but have used Quicken since 1995. Why won't Quicken Mac 2007 load on my new Imac OS X 10.5.8

Why off topic here, so, please try to look over the odd question. Have you ever lived in Columbus Ga. -
Inappropriate?Hi there,
This is Chelsea from Quicken.
Quicken for Mac will be available in February 2010.
If you have product suggestions for Quicken, which is sounds like a lot of folks on this thread do, please join our Inner Circle (www.quicken.com/innercircle). It's really the best way to give us actionable suggestions, participate in surveys, and get your voices heard by the product team.
Thanks,
Chelsea

Inappropriate?I am a long-time Quicken user. I recently switched to a mac, bought quicken 2007 for mac and was IMMEDIATELY disappointed with its functionality. I will put up with this version for now and buy the new version in Feb, but if it's not as good or BETTER than the windows version, I will be shopping for a new financial software.
I’m impatient
