Help Quick Books Pro corrupted data

I cannot open my data file in Quickbooks Pro 2008, I have vista, I downloaded it from online and this program has been nothing except problems for the past year..(I had qb2005 for years-disk- never a problem). Now I have multilple files (I finally purchased support recently, still no answers to why the multiple files), 2 weeks later corrupted data (I was told I shut down my computer wrong---in 2009?). My accountant is re-entering recent data and told me to get rid of all the Quickbooks, including all files and have quickbooks send me a disk with Quick Books Pro 2008..any one else have a problem? I am waiting for support to call me back again
