Why are images not showing up in my RSS Feed?
The logic we use to select images for your RSS feed is pretty complex. It works 99% of the time, but every once in a while, someone has a feed that does images a little differently, and our logic does not cover it. If you are not getting images, please reply to this thread and include your fan page URL and we will look into it right away.
Also note that we only show images on feeds where most stories have images. This is because the feed looks worse with some images than with no images (trust us, we tested it a lot). Please make sure that is not the case as well before posting.
Thanks!

Inappropriate?I am having troubles with this. My feed is from Feedburner. my facebook page is http://www.facebook.com/pages/ReelSEO... Please advise

Hi Mark, I looked at your RSS source and some of your posts don't have images, as Noah noted above, we only show images when almost all of the posts have images attached to them to improve the aesthetics of the page. -
Thanks. probably 1/3 or 1/4 of my posts have images but none show up. Are you saying that only when all of them have images will they show up? The last 2 have had images and none shows up. Im not sure I understand. Is this done manually? Can you clarify? Thanks. -
We automatically parse your feed and if we see that most posts have images, we'll make a space for images next to all the stories, if the feed doesn't contain a large majority of images with the posts, we won't show a space for images at all. We tested the design numerous ways, and these are the two ways it looks best (essentially all images, or none). -
So, if I begin to add images to each post, will this trigger that to begin showing? Ideally, I think it would be great if you guys just showed images when the post has them and not when they dont but I understand you tested this so.... I think it has caused some confusion and hence the support requests. -
Mark, if we see that all the stories have photos we will automatically start displaying them. -
Inappropriate? Also, how can I get my feed to update status wall? Do I have to add something new to the feed for that to start?
I’m confident
-
Hi Mark, in your app settings (click edit tab settings when viewing the tab) you'll see an option to Enable Status Updates, just enable that and follow the instructions and you'll be good to go! -
I did this and did follow the instructions. Thanks.. It works but doesnt update the wall, just status updates, know what I mean? I mean there are no links to the actual post or images, just a status update. -
This is an open feature suggestion we're working on for a future release. Thanks for the ideas, please keep the feature suggestions coming! -
Inappropriate? Our feed does not have images and this code shows up in the feed description instead of images "Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE"

Hi Nadia, one of our engineers is investigating this and will provide an answer as he finds one in the other topic you opened for this issue. Thanks for using Involver! -

Should have told you earlier, we have someone looking at this right now. Will have an answer shortly. -
Inappropriate?I have this problem too, all the posts from the rss feed should come with images. Also, I hope that you guys will soon be able to make rss feeds post directly onto the wall of the fan page, or atleast give me the option to tell it too. Currently I am only able to post the feeds onto my private individual page and not the fan page.

Inappropriate?Hey Noah,
Same case.. tested it with three different feed sources and no thumbnail. Our page is still un-published while we find a fix to this.. How can I give you access to check it out?

Hi Jaime. If you just give me the private URL of your fan page, I can still look it up in our database and take a look. -
Inappropriate? Thanks Noah,.. it would be: http://www.facebook.com/pages/pocketn...
-
Hi Jaime. I am not sure why that is not working on first glance. I will look at this more and will either have an idea tonight or early in the morning. -
Inappropriate? Thanks for your time Noah,.. I'll be waiting on your response..
-
OK Jaime, I have found the issue and have patched it on our servers. I can't see your page but I think it should be fine now. Please let me know ASAP if there is any issue -
Inappropriate? Thanks Noah,.. Fantastic!! it's working now. For some reason, though,.. I just expanded the feed to 20 news posts and it only gives me thumbs for 10.. Think you could look into that when you have a chance?
Thanks -
Is it fixed now? I had to do a mini-patch for your issue that updated the automated updating of feeds to work properly, but the manual updating that happens when you use the settings page isn't updated. I will do that tomorrow. Between now and then, if you need an update, let me know. -
Inappropriate?Working like a charm.. thanks so much for your time and help.. Will give you any feedback regarding the manual updating.
BTW.. when feeds are posted on the wall,.. do these pull the thumbnail or is it just text? Testing this also tomorrow.. -

Inappropriate?Hi TJ,
It looks like you've got the RSS app installed on your page but not showing it yet. To show the app go to the plus sign (+) that is to the right of your tabs. Click on it and select RSS and it will then show and you can configure it. Alternatively, you can go to Edit page from your Wall and click on the pencil icon to the right of RSS. Select Edit from the pencil's drop down menu and you will then be able to configure your app.
If you have further questions about this or any of our other apps feel free to email me at steve@involver.com, thanks!
Steve
