What is considered the best English translation of the Koran?
The more people who ask this question, the more it gets noticed.

Inappropriate?Hey Thor - I have a translation by A. Yusuf Ali that was made in the 1940s, by a Pakistani/Indian chap.
The edition I have provides a pretty good translation, but more importantly copious footnote and references.

I’m confident

Inappropriate? There isn't really a 'best' translation but are a few main ones. Some will be easier to understand than others depending on the reader and the part you're reading, point of view : ) etc.
Yusuf Ali
Muhsin Khan
Mohammed Marmaduke Pikthall (apparently used by many reverts/converts)
these are the main english translations
I’m excited
