I'm getting an error when uploading a PDF:
"Parts of your document was replaced with bitmaps
Because of conversion trouble, we had to replace the following page(s) with bitmap image(s) instead of vector graphics: 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10.
If you're not happy with the result, you can try and simplify the vector graphics on the mentioned page(s) in the original file and upload again."
I'm using InDesign and exporting in the correct PDF format (v1.5). There are no complex vector graphics in my document, mostly just text. What is the problem that causes the document to be all converted to bitmaps?

Inappropriate?I've done some more experimenting, and this might have something to do with the way InDesign exports PDFs that Issuu doesn't like. I tried "printing" to the Adobe PDF printer to produce the PDF, and when uploaded, it didn't have the same problem. It kept all of my vector graphics intact. So there might be a problem with the way Issuu handles PDFs exported from InDesign.

Creating the pdf with the print dialog box solved this problem for me. Yeah! -

Inappropriate?InDesign Hyperlinks and Raster Type Problem when in ISSUU
I've done some testing on this because I need both Hyperlinks to work in my ISSUU PDF's as well as the type to be crisp (not rasterized.) When I export to PDF out of InDesign and select Hyperlinks to be active, the resulting uploaded PDF type is rasterized but retains active hyperlinks. Even if I choose Hyperlinks to be inactive when exporting, the uploaded PDF still has raster type. However when I print to a postscript file in InDesign and then distill it in Adobe Distiller... the created PDF retains the hyperlink but once uploaded to ISSUU, it loses the hyperlink capability but retains the crisp vector type. I have not tested converting the type to outline in Indesign because I want the type to be searchable in ISSUU. Personally, I believe the problem lies with InDesign/ISSUU hyperlinks... but that's just a guess. Is it possible to Distill a postscript file that retains hyperlinks and still work once uploaded to ISSUU??? Am I asking too much?
