Sidebar on Issuu Pro Public vs. Private
Hi,
I read previous posts stating that on Issuu Pro, the sidebar only disappears on embeded documents. My question is, if I upload a document "Public" and embed it, will the sidebar disappear on the website that I place it on, but still remain on Issuu? Does it have to necessarily be "Private" for the sidebar to disappear completely or can I make it
Public + Embeding = Sidebar disappears on my website
(I do not care if the sidebar remains on Issuu.com just want my document to be Public without a sidebar when I embed it).
Thanks.

Hi Cliché Magazine.
It's really simple: On Issuu all publications will always have the sidebar - no matter if they are public or private.
The only place you can remove the sidebar is in embedded/standalone publications outside Issuu, and this is only possible with Issuu Pro.
So, you should go ahead with Issuu Pro: http://issuu.com/business
I’m happy

Oh man, this is also terrible news. I hope this can be corrected in the future; a Pro user should never see any advertisements.
I love this site, but I will defer my Pro membership until this and the lack of support for the searching of private documents can be fixed.

Inappropriate?Hi KBW.
I'm sorry you feel this way - I hope you will stay with us on a free account. The only place you will see ads (related documents) is in the community viewer, and we're not about to change that. If Pro customers doesn't want their readers to see the ads, they simply opt out of the community by uploading their publications as private.
You seem be using Issuu for something special - feel free to share some info with us, so we can learn from your case.

Inappropriate?Agree with KBW.
This is a major roadblock for us. I can't publish our publications publicly on Issuu.com because we get questionable content in the sidebar...on a Pro account. Even when the publication is private, the sidebar still appears when testing the publication (but not on embed). Can the sidebar at least disappear from the Issuu.com version if the publication is private?

Hi Jaars. If you as a Pro member upload as Private you will not be part of the community, which means that no one will see your document with the sidebar. -
Inappropriate?Martin,
Thanks for the response. There are a couple problems with that.
1) When we have to test the document after creation, we still see the sidebar (because it is on Issuu.com, and not embedded yet).
2) We want to be part of the Issuu.com community, but much of the "related content" really isn't appropriate for our audience. We'd be fine with the related content bar on Issuu.com if it displayed things that were truly related. For example, we have video products on YouTube. YouTube also displays "related content", but it never pulls in anything that would be considered objectionable, because anything that is truly related to our content wouldn't be inappropriate for our audience.

Inappropriate?Hi Jaars.
I can see your problem. A few comments.
1. To get a link without the sidebar that is not embedded, simply click Embed and get 'Link with styling' in the top-right.
2. We are working on improving the results shown in the sidebar, as we're aware that it's not always spot on hits that comes up.
I’m confident
