Inappropriate?Your files remain untouched on your website/server. A copy will safely be uploaded to your Issuu account. It will be stored in a Smart Look folder in My Library as a 'public' publication.
I’m happy

Inappropriate?Do all the files on my site get posted to Issuu or can I control which ones get posted?
My situation is that all our PDFs are hosted on media.abc.com but only a few should be accessible on Issuu.
I’m excited

Inappropriate?Hi,
Only the wabpages that contain the SmartLook (beta) code will be posted on issuu. In this first version you'll have to settle for all files or no files. We will be introduce more granular settings as the product evolves with our users.
Do you need to post one a particular set of files selected by you? What is your story?
Cheers
-mike
I’m thankful

Inappropriate? My situation is that pdfs A,B, and C are available for download on the webpage and can be previewed with Issuu, while pdfs D and F are only intended to be downloaded from a link in a newsletter and should not be on Issuu. All are hosted on the same site.
After reading more about Smart Look it looks like as long as my webpage doesn't link to pdfs D and F those PDFs won't appear on Issuu. e.g. Issuu doesn't pull all the PDFs store on my webhost, just the ones I link to from a webpage with the Smart Look code.
Is that correct?
Apologizes for needing my hand held through this. Just want to confirm before I jump in. Thanks!
I’m excited

Inappropriate?Hi,
That is correct. Issuu only pulls in those files that are linked-to by the webpages that has the SmartLook code included.
So if you don't link to the files D and F, SmartLook will NOT pull them in.

I’m happy
-
Inappropriate?Any chance we can upload them as secret/private (and pay, of course, with an Issuu Pro account)
-
Inappropriate?Hi eirikh. The reason we're making files public as default is that PDFs on your website are readily available for download (= public). What's your use case?
I’m curious
-
Inappropriate?@Martin: Some of our clients only allow us to distribute their publications through our website. If they suddenly found it on issuu.com they probably wouldn't like it much.
I’m undecided
-
Inappropriate? We also have a need for making SmartLook files as Private. On our site, most pages with PDF links are only available for member users who are logged in. Can the Javascript code at bottom of our website pages be modified so that any PDF's sent to Issuu be Private instead of Public?
-
Inappropriate?yep.
Same situation here.
I would really appreciate an option to make Smart Look documents private, because I only want to give users the chance to view it in issuu's amzing way.
I’m undecided
-
Inappropriate?Yup Mike, also the same situation here...(sorry to be a broken record, but looks like a private paid option would be a winner :) ! I have a number of PDF publications I would like to link with SmartLook but these files are for internal use and meant to be only accessible using the company's CRM system (sugarCRM) and intranet CMS (Open Atrium) which require a login. Any progress on a private option for SmartLook? This would be a great addition to the product as so many companies (especially HR and MKT teams) create internal PDF publications for company intranets. Thanks!
