I think this service is really wonderful, and I enjoy using it a lot. I would like it even more if I could login with my openid/iname, though, because then I would have one less username/password combination to remember, and I would feel better abut the security of all of my appointments.
Hi, I'm already very glad that Sandy provides a calendar that I can subscribe to in gCal. But the other way round would suit me even better. Have you guys thought about an option to subscribe to multiple Google calendars from within Sandy? This is my situation:
My wife and I share Google calendars. (She likes gCal so introducing her to Sandy is not an option.)
I use SpanningSync to sync gCal and iCal. (I like iCal, so fully switching to Sandy is not an option for me either.)
I'd love to have a single page that's frequently updated and shows all my to-do's and appointments from Sandy and gCal.
So couldn't I just provide Sandy with the private URLs of my calendars in gCal so she can import the appointments into my daily digest? Perhaps she could even remind me of them one day. That would be great.
I'd really like to be able to interact with Sandy outside of email.
The new Twitter integration is nifty, but Twitter is rather broadcasty, so a single mis-type can share your remember with the whole world.
I'd love to see Sandy be able to interact as a chatbot thru some IM service or other. Jabber seems like a good OSS option, but any of the popular services (AIM, MSN, Yahoo, ICQ, etc.) would also be helpful.
I'd like to have a Sandy web application for the iphone. I think this would be a great addition. What are the chances of something like this coming to fruition?
Sandy should accept calendars via DAV, and be able to subscribe to other shared calendars - like Google's Calendar and Outlook'07 shared calendars previously posted via DAV to my server.
I'd like to be able to set up multiple reminders for an event. I'd like a reminder by email 2 hours before the event. And I'd like another reminder by sms message 15 minutes before the event.
Wishlist: I'd like to see Sandy send my new contacts ("Remember Jonas 123-123-4444 jonas@example.com) get automatically imported to Gmail (as on option, of course). I suppose that may not be possible. I'm also aware that I can upload the .vcf file Sandy returns to Gmail, but that is much less convenient than an automatic, tell-sandy-and-forget-it solution like the one I'm whining for ;-)
I have developed a (basic) working, iPhone-optimized web form that allows me to quickly get tasks to Sandy. (It's basically a web form with a PHP backend that does the mailing to Sandy.)
I'd love to bring this to others, but doing so would require that I create a membership framework that stores users' information -- otherwise the form wouldn't know your unique e-mail address for Sandy. As it is now, I just have my Sandy e-mail hardcoded into the scripts since I'm the only one using it.
So...I thought I'd look for some feedback here. Are folks willing to sign up for such a site and enter their personal info?
I want to be able to use Sandy to remember longer blocks of text that span multiple lines -- kind of like a small Stikkit. It's okay with me if certain rules apply (like: no blank lines permitted, no lines other than the first may begin with a keyword like "remember").
For instance, this list of steps for a technical task:
remember
How to boot up in single-user mode:
- restart
- command-S
- /sbin mount -uw /
- /sbin/SystemStarter
If I send that to Sandy, she does remember it, but she strings all the lines together -- and cuts off after a certain number of characters (which isn't quite enough for that example).
The original email is saved, so for instance if I "lookup single-user", a reference to the email (but not the contents of it) is provided in Sandy's reply, e.g., as #5, with a link -- but when I click the link to view the email, I can't edit it.
And I can't tag the email with "update #5 @tech" -- if I do, I get a blank reply from Sandy. (This is presumably a bug, perhaps due to the tech team overlooking the possibility that anyone might try to update an email referenced in a Sandy reply?)
Ideally, I could forward an email to Sandy with the subject line "remember @projectname" and she would remember it forever, in a way that made it accessible to me.
There has been some mention of Stikkit type features that would be great for Sandy, and one other that comes to mind was how Stikkit captured contact related info (notes, tasks, etc.) automatically and when you pulled up a contact in Stikkit, you would see a listing of those related alongside the contact. In Sandy, you could just list it below the contact info, but the concept is the same.
Sandy should be able to do things for me online. She's my assistant, and she lives online. It'd be natural for her. I should be able to give her my login and password to a site, and she should be able to use the service. There's a ton of things that she could do for me.
Sandy should be able to:
*) track packages (Fedex.com)
*) monitor plane flights (tell me if it's delayed)
*) update my Twitter account
*) monitor my Ebay auctions
*) work with Facebook
*) shop for things on Amazon
I'd love to see some "Sandy addons" that can do some of these things. Just like Jott has "Jott links", Sandy could have "Sandy links" that would allow her to interact with online services. In fact, there should be a way that people can create new addons for Sandy, just like all those Jott links and Firefox extensions. Having Sandy be able to use other online services would make her quite the useful assistant.
Have you all thought about having a mobile site for iwantsandy? One that I could go to on my phone and change settings, search tags, etc. I think a mobile site would be a wonderful feature. I actually can view the site pretty well on my phone, except that I have to keep scrolling left to right. It might be nice to have the site render in a way where the margins were brought in.
An example given to try is "Remember Pat's wife's name is Christine." Why aren't contacts for Christine and Pat created with information in each stating that they are married?
