Lengthy email error

I was "practicing" some sandy commands this weekend (trying to get the hang of @archive & forget with recurring appointments), and one of my emails was bounced with the following:

This is the Postfix program at host peach.local.

Now, the message seemed to be processed just fine anyway, although I got no message from Sandy saying so (It was a "forget" command, and the item was successfully forgotten). I haven't seen this recurr.</postmaster>

Twitter is not sending Sandy's reminder's to my phone anymore

Everything was working a treat this morning. I'd email Sandy and she sent me reminders to my email and (via twitter) to my mobile. However, Twitter is not sending Sandy's reminder's to my phone anymore although the emails are still getting through. Are Twitter and Sandy fighting? What's up?

Sandy has registered four new events for me via email. I can see them at iwantsandy.com She has also emailed me replies to say that they have been scheduled. However, she isn't emailing me reminders even though the times have passed. Also, clicking on "Email a fresh copy" of my daily digest for today does nothing - no email. Can anyone help?

how many emails can I use with Sandy?

How many emails can I use to send messages?

I use a primary/personal email
an "office email"
and a gmail account

so I really need to enter three addresses but every time send a message from that and then get the

"I received some email from Don _____ <d____@gmail.com>, an address with which I'm not familiar.
f you'd like me to start accepting email from this address, click the following link:

http://iwantsandy.com/settings?a=____...

Once you've approved this address, you'll need to send your email message (I've quoted it below) to me again.

(Please note: I'll always reply to the address from which you wrote to me, but I will still send all notifications, reminders and your daily digests to your primary address.)

If you need any help, don't hesitate to drop my helpers a line at help@iwantsandy.com."

I click the link to confirm that I want to use that third email I get a confusing "Oops - Try again....antacids kicked in" not funny really as it's very confusing?

Some clarification would be nice

Is emailing to Sandy broken?

I'm sending email but it never seems to get there. I've verified the address it's correct. I can directtly add from the web interface. It's been 20 minutes since I posted an email and nothing back. Is this still due to the spam attack?

Slightly sluggish

Howdy,

Sandy's sluggishness over the past few hours has been due — it turns out — to an attempted spam attack. Sandy's mail servers and spam filters are working beautifully (protecting you and your account), but are moving a little more slowly under the incredible load.

This means you're likely to be experiencing responses from Sandy that are on the sluggish side (no more than just a few minutes). This applies to any email you're sending to Sandy; twittering, jotting, and using Sandy's web site to talk to her is working just fine.

We've made some adjustments to Sandy's spam filters to match the particular attempts being made to get email through to her and that's having a good effect (in terms of server load and thus Sandy's speed of response).

I'll post shortly with an update.

Best,

I have a couple of different reminders, 4 marked @weekly and one marked @daily, that have stopped sending email reminders to me. the marked @daily faithfully sent me a reminder every day for four days, then stopped. the reminder still shows up on my calendar, but i don't get the email. same deal with a my weekly reminders, except they went for 6 weeks consistently, then stopped sending reminders. i am not aware of any time that i asked sandy to edit the settings on the calendar items. i had three @weekly reminders set to show up on monday morning, and this week i only got one of them. what am i missing?

Marking a recurring item done via email link marks the whole series done.

Marking a recurring item done via email marks the whole series as done silently. While it is nice to get a email reminder on a recurring item, having to go to the website to mark just the one recurrence done is an annoyance. It would be much better if the email for recurring items had two links:
"Mark this one done"
"Mark all of these done"

Somewhat better would be changing the "mark done" link in the email to only mark the current recurrence done and not the whole series.

Meeting scheduling by email

ikordo.com was a service for scheduling meetings by email. It'd engage in back-and-forth with all the participants and settle on a time.

I tried using it, liked the experience, but lack of Google Calendar integration discouraged me -- the meetings that ikordo would schedule would need to go into my calendar in a convoluted way.

Sandy, on the other hand, is positioned much better to schedule meetings by email. She already does email, and she already stores my appointments. Google Calendar integration remains a problem, but it's an orthogonal problem.

So, wouldn't it be cool to ask Sandy to schedule a meeting with four people and have her deal with the details? I'd use that, and since I often use Sandy to store the appointment anyway, it'd really be great, taking my mind off the trivialities of scheduling.

Thanks for the great service.

Can I have Sandy Update my twitter?

Make Sandy more personal with the use of nicknames.

This is just an idea, and it's not like it's a top priority, but one thing I love about Sandy is how personal it is. Like one of the testimonials I read, you actually start to forget that it's an automated service. Sandy comes to life!

Just an idea to make this even more personal, some names have nicknames that are just understood, like my name, Jacob, is often referred to as Jake. Johnathon as John or Johnny. Etc. It'd be cool if every now and then in some of the e-mails Sandy sent it'd use a nickname in her greeting.

Like I said, not a priority, and it would probably take a while to implement, but it's just an idea.

I'd love to forward airline itinerary confirmations to Sandy.

It'd be quite a coup if I could just forward Sandy a copy of the confirmation email I get from an airline when booking a flight or flights.

Instead of having to tell Sandy to remember the details of both flights, it'd be pretty incredible if Sandy could make sense of the details and place reminders appropriately. Something like, "Sandy, remember these flights for me and remind me to check in the evening before" (now that's getting greedy, I know!).

Here's a sample from Hawaiian Air:

I T I N E R A R Y :
DEPART: Oahu - Honolulu (HNL) 02:05 PM
FLIGHT: HA44
...

Imagine if Sandy was able to figure out the airport codes and know that I'm out of town, or at least know that I'll be at the destination until the return flight. There was another topic (search for 'air flight') about triggering reminders based on event tags; in the post's example, the author wanted Sandy to remember things he could do when next in New York, then trigger those reminders when traveling there. I'd be happy to collect some of the various confirmations and see if there's any consistency to the structure!

Can i send sandy an ics file to make an appointment?

I use Mail.app in an office that is mostly outlook. When I receive meeting invites, they come as .ics attachments in email. I can double-click on these to import them into iCal, but I'd like them in Sandy. Ideally I'd just be able to forward her the attachment and have her remember the appointment, but the only way I've found to do it is to type out the meeting info as "remember <blah>".

Is there a way to do this?</blah>

I want to be able to remind myself about the time of the gig but at a scepific time of the day i.e. I want the reminder at 9am but to remind myself the gig is at 7pm.The email I sent is "Remind me about GZA at KOKO on 09/12/07 at 7pm" and then the reminder is set to remind me at 6:45pm on that day. I have to manually change it as the time of the event start and the time of the reminder are two separate elements and I don't know how to email both at the same time.
