Wishlist: I'd like to see Sandy send my new contacts ("Remember Jonas 123-123-4444 jonas@example.com) get automatically imported to Gmail (as on option, of course). I suppose that may not be possible. I'm also aware that I can upload the .vcf file Sandy returns to Gmail, but that is much less convenient than an automatic, tell-sandy-and-forget-it solution like the one I'm whining for ;-)
I am having trouble with autoforwarding with gmail.
Since iwantsandy allows for only two e-mail addresses, I've set up a gmail address which will forward to my iwantsandy e-mail address from any of my many e-mail addresses. However, iwantsandy has problem parsing the e-mail which is forwarded from this extra e-mail address. Any thoughts?
I have finally found a way to get my full daily digest to me from my phone and its now read to me!
If you are already using www.jott.com you might know of the new jott my feeds where you can have RSS feeds read to you. Currently i have my daily digest sent to my email every morning. But that does not help me if im not near a pc. so if i could turn my email from sandy into an rss then i could make my daily digest email an rss.
so what you need to do is tell sandy to send a daily digest to your email every day. then create a filter to forward that email to xxxxx@mailbucket.org and have your news reader pick it up at mailbucket.org/xxxxx.xml (where you choose xxxxx, having checked that it's not already in use).
so now your daily digest is made into an rss at mailbucket.org/xxxxx
As you probably know Gmail groups emails into conversations based on subject.
An email I get, is often a To-Do item. I want my inbox clean and postpone the action to a later date/time by forwarding it to Sandy and saying: "remind me in" the email body. (so that I can archive the conversation and concentrate on the stuff that is in my inbox and needs immediate action)
However, in the reminder Sandy adds "[reminder]" to the subject line and adds the reminder time. This breaks the conversation. Can I switch off this added information so that the email shows up in my inbox again _together with_ the rest of the conversation that has the information I need for the action?
I use Google Calendar for all my appointments and want to keep it that way. I want Sandy for To Do's, reminders, and the daily digest, but I want my appointments in my daily digest. So I have to find some way for Google Calendar to tell Sandy about the appointments. Now you should see the network of listservs and email forwarding I have set up to try to get this to work, unfortunately I have been unsuccessful.
I am very close to getting this to work The set up [tangled web] I have works like this:
1)The gCal notification is sent to my gmail
2)gmail filters those out and forwards to yahoo group
3)yahoo group changes the 'from' tag to .....-owner @ yahoogroups.com
4)the yahoo group sends it to an alumni email forwarding service i have through my university (because yahoo groups said anything @ googlegroups.com isn't a valid email address)
5)Alumni forwarding service forwards it to a google group (so "remind" can be prepended to the subject)
6)the google group sends it to Sandy
7)whew
The problem is that for some reason the email from Sandy to confirm the secondary address (of the yahoo group owner) isn't getting through. I tried sending email from other accounts to the .....-owner @ yahoogroups.com address and they got through. Sandy's doesn't though :(
So I had an idea to make it easy to get gCal events to Sandy:
If Sandy would accept emails from "calendar-notification @ google.com" (without having to verify), then we would be able to to forward google calendar notifications sent to our gmail to Sandy and she would accept them. (She also would have to accept the "[Reminder]" tag that is on the front of those emails instead of the usual "r" or "remind".
So what do you say? Any way we can make this happen?
It would be great if Sandy could be tightly integrated with Outlook or GCal/Gmail. There are apps out there that will sync directly with Outlook and GCal along with the contacts to allow you to see your schedule across multiple PIMs. It would be good if Sandy could know all of my apointments, not just the ones I tell her about. Same goes for contacts or even ToDos. If Sandy could not just add to them, but know all of them I'd be the first to pay for this service.
When I suscribe to the http://iwantsandy.com/list.ics feed google tells me it can't open it, I suspect because google doesn't have my cookies.. Anyway to add something to that so that sandy knows which calendar she needs to feed?
im also using http://www.imified.com/ and love that it interacts with services i already use - 30boxes, backpack. would love to see that with sandy so i dont have another site to check.
would also love to see sandy interact with me via IM.
For example when I try to use Sandy to schedule things the conformation emails as well as the lookup responses are mangled to the point of being unreadable by gmail. I use gmail to forward the email to my Blackberry. I am assuming this is because most email solutions like gmail have problems with non-plain text emails.
