For the last week or so, every time I send a direct message to Sandy via Twitter, I get the standard "does not compute" response (This one: "Hello! To remember/remind: 'd s r take a break in 15 min'...") and my notes are not updated. Doesn't seem to matter what I send. If I resend the same text in the body of an email, it works. I don't think it's Twitter's fault, because this happens at times when Twitter seems to be working fine otherwise.
Can you create contacts with the "powertips" syntax? I just tried it and it didn't seem to work...
I used:
Remember @oldjob +
* Bob Jones (Administrator) work number is 555-123-4456 home number 555-642-2345
* Company website is http://old.401k.site
* Jane Doe cell 555-523-1234
I wound up with 1 bookmark (good) and 2 notes (bad). When I broke it out into 3 separate Reminder lines (in 1 email), it correctly got 1 bookmark and 2 contacts.
I use Google Calendar for all my appointments and want to keep it that way. I want Sandy for To Do's, reminders, and the daily digest, but I want my appointments in my daily digest. So I have to find some way for Google Calendar to tell Sandy about the appointments. Now you should see the network of listservs and email forwarding I have set up to try to get this to work, unfortunately I have been unsuccessful.
I am very close to getting this to work The set up [tangled web] I have works like this:
1)The gCal notification is sent to my gmail
2)gmail filters those out and forwards to yahoo group
3)yahoo group changes the 'from' tag to .....-owner @ yahoogroups.com
4)the yahoo group sends it to an alumni email forwarding service i have through my university (because yahoo groups said anything @ googlegroups.com isn't a valid email address)
5)Alumni forwarding service forwards it to a google group (so "remind" can be prepended to the subject)
6)the google group sends it to Sandy
7)whew
The problem is that for some reason the email from Sandy to confirm the secondary address (of the yahoo group owner) isn't getting through. I tried sending email from other accounts to the .....-owner @ yahoogroups.com address and they got through. Sandy's doesn't though :(
So I had an idea to make it easy to get gCal events to Sandy:
If Sandy would accept emails from "calendar-notification @ google.com" (without having to verify), then we would be able to to forward google calendar notifications sent to our gmail to Sandy and she would accept them. (She also would have to accept the "[Reminder]" tag that is on the front of those emails instead of the usual "r" or "remind".
So what do you say? Any way we can make this happen?
When I lookup a contact in Sandy by her name via Twitter, all I get as a response is "direct from s: #[number] First result: [Name]". I don't get the rest of the contacts details. The details show up fine in the web interface, but not via Twitter. What gives?
I just took a quick look at "Posti.ca", which is kinda like sandy but only for notes. Have you given any thought to rearranging Sandy's "Notes" interface to something like this? I really like the Post-it visualization of nodes.
The inline action icons that appear beside each item (edit, archive, forget) don't appear on mouseover in my Internet Explorer. I tested on another computer's IE and the icons do appear. Instead, when I mouseover, the item's line spacing expands, so the page constantly looks jitter-y.
Everything's fine on my Firefox, and I'm aware that it is a better browser for lots of reasons. However I mainly use Bubbles for Sandy, which uses IE, and I don't want to change to Prism at the moment.
I suspect it may be my Internet Options, but I don't know where to begin troubleshooting. Most of the 'Multimedia' options are checked in my Advanced tab, sans 'Smart image dithering' which I tested checked and unchecked. Also, I am still able to see other images, such as the Snapshots icon, the reminder icon and the repeat icon.
I just scheduled a bunch of events with sandy and noticed the following little quirk in time parsing:
* r Do something Monday 4:30-5pm
That works just fine.. But change it to
* r Do something Monday 4-4:30pm
And it schedules the event at 4:00, and adds "-4:30pm" to the event title and ignores it. Saying 4:00-4:30pm works just fine, so it's something with the start being only the hour for the end being hour & minutes.
How about a setting up a Sandy status RSS feed? If Sandy is having issues, then it would be good to informed of this before the fact (i.e. when you check your RSS reader, say), than after discovering something isn't working as it should.
Yet again I'm not getting daily digests. I was caught in the congestion a few days ago, got one proper daily digest and one reminder and now nothing. I'm not sure if this is limited to the DD since I haven't added any specific items since the snafu.
Resending fresh copy also appears to not be working.
Everything was working a treat this morning. I'd email Sandy and she sent me reminders to my email and (via twitter) to my mobile. However, Twitter is not sending Sandy's reminder's to my phone anymore although the emails are still getting through. Are Twitter and Sandy fighting? What's up?
A lot of us think a mobile version of Sandy would be great. I understand that a swish version of Sandy might require lots of technical prowess but why not aim for something simple in the meantime?
Until someone comes forward with the kind of skills to create a sexy mobile version of Sandy (alas I have none), how about a pared down version featuring just html and hyperlinks?
Something like what Google has done for their (non-iPhone) version of Gmail might work. (http://m.google.com/ would be an example of the kind of interface that I'm talking about.) That way Sandy could still help with those of us with web enabled phones wanting to check our to do lists on the run.
Sandy has registered four new events for me via email. I can see them at iwantsandy.com She has also emailed me replies to say that they have been scheduled. However, she isn't emailing me reminders even though the times have passed. Also, clicking on "Email a fresh copy" of my daily digest for today does nothing - no email. Can anyone help?
why don't i get the confirmation text message on my mobile phone when I send it from your site? I've inputted the correct number and carrier. I've asked the confrimation number to be resent several times. I am currently receiving text messages from other sources. Please help!
ikordo.com was a service for scheduling meetings by email. It'd engage in back-and-forth with all the participants and settle on a time.
I tried using it, liked the experience, but lack of Google Calendar integration discouraged me -- the meetings that ikordo would schedule would need to go into my calendar in a convoluted way.
Sandy, on the other hand, is positioned much better to schedule meetings by email. She already does email, and she already stores my appointments. Google Calendar integration remains a problem, but it's an orthogonal problem.
So, wouldn't it be cool to ask Sandy to schedule a meeting with four people and have her deal with the details? I'd use that, and since I often use Sandy to store the appointment anyway, it'd really be great, taking my mind off the trivialities of scheduling.
Problem: I track lots of repeating events in Sandy. For example, I entered my Tuesday weights routine as "r upper-body and abs @fitness @weekly @todo". (I've tested this with and without the @todo tag, BTW; I just prefer to use @todo for everything that isn't a time-specific task.)
When I have finished the workout, I want to check it completed. However, I get a pop-up asking if I want to mark the entire series completed, and the only options are Yes or Cancel. Since this event repeats indefinitely, I certainly don't want to mark the whole series done! Past instances show up in my schedule and/or @todo list because Sandy thinks they're still active.
Idea: Please implement an additional option to select "this instance only" for actions (archive/edit/complete) on repeating events.
With every SMS sent to my iPhone Sandy's phone number goes up so it's hard to keep track of her. The last reminder I got was from 1 (010) 100-018, then next will be 019. I have an iPhone and I'd like Sandy to have a fixed mobile number so I can add her as a contact and have the reminders organized under her name in the SMS app (just like all my text messages from friends, etc.). Why does the number change with each SMS?
new user question here...
If you don't complete a "to do", does it fall off the agenda?
Can you have it repeated forever with a "nag tag"? or maybe move after three days into a long-range project list?
I have some tags which are my "attention" tags, or those tags which are meant for me to take immediate notice of, such as 'for follow up' or 'urgent'. However, once I've completed a one of those 'for follow up' or 'urgent' which are marked @todo, it would be really nice if Sandy automatically removed the to-do from the 'urgent' or 'for follow up' tags, since whenever you complete an 'urgent' or 'for follow up' task, it always ceases to be urgent or for follow up.
This could be implemented with a checkbox or link on the specific tag's page, which allowed the user to check the box if he or she wanted Sandy to automatically remove done tasks from the tag.
