Attachments
Can attachments be sent back with the reminder? I tried but it didn't come back.
The userguide says:
"When you make me part of an email conversation, I will automatically email the other recipients (anyone else in the To: or Cc: fields), with appointments, to-dos, contacts, or bookmarks you had me create (attachments too!)."

Inappropriate?Hi Slicks,
Just to be clear, are you asking that Sandy send along attachments that you sent to her? Or are you referring to the vCard and iCalendar attachments that she includes in her replies to you?
Thanks for posting!
Best,
David -
Inappropriate?I'm interested in this question too... and I mean general attachments to the email, not vCards etc.
/thanks -
Inappropriate?As michele stated, general attachments.
P.S. the iCal attachments do not appear to work with Outlook 2000. -
Inappropriate?Hi Slicks,
You caught a mistype there -- what the guide was supposed to say was that Sandy would attache iCal invites and vCards for appointments, reminders, to-dos, and contacts you had her create for you.
Sandy doesn't pass on the attachments when you copy include her in an email thread with others. The other recipients already have the attachments by virtue of their having been in the email thread to begin with.
As for returning attachments with reminders, we didn't have Sandy do so for about the same reason she doesn't pass them on -- you presumably already have them sitting in your email inbox (or another folder) and so don't need another copy sent back your way. We work with Sandy to make sure that you're never receiving anything that isn't necessary unless she can add some value in the process (e.g. adding an attachment for an appointment to her reply).
That all said, was it more idle curiosity or was there a purpose you had in mind that might make Sandy more helpful?

Most of my tasks include one or more files.
"Add picture to website" (attached image)
"Update spreadsheet" (attached xls)
"Add George to member list" (attached PDF of application)
The more centralization a PIM can offer, the more useful it is. Perhaps a file attachment could be stored in a related table referencing the TaskID. Reminders would not include the attachment but include a link to download them. Forgetting the task would cascade delete the associated attachment/s.
ex:
To: Sandy
Interview John Smith this Friday at 2pm @JobApplication
<< attachment: JohnSmith.doc >>
Going with the "personal assistant" analogy, a crucial function of an assistant is filing "papers" and retrieving them when asked. Perhaps Sandy could be taught to understand "file" as well as "remember".
ex: I want Sandy to file resumes that were sent to me
To: Sandy
File John Smith @Resume @Sales
<.doc or .pdf attached>
<later>
To: Sandy
Look up @Sales @Resume
<email>
Hello, john!
Here's what I found matching Sales Resume
File #1 John Smith

File #2 George Jones

File #3 Jennifer Rush

Customers could be allocated 100MB of file storage with an option to pay more for more space.

Inappropriate?Hi Rael and Slicks,
My intention was to use Sandy as an incubator for ideas I have... I wanted to send her an idea, maybe with a sketch or photo (here's where the attachment comes in) and ask her to remind me of this idea in 2 weeks. In 2 weeks I would develop the idea a bit further, add thoughts, change/update the sketch and ask her to remind me again in 3 weeks. Sandy's reminder would become the container for this idea.
I guess I could do the same with just creating a folder for the idea on my hard drive and typing the path / folder name into the Sandy reminder,... :)

Inappropriate?I would really be interested in this functionality. I use gmail to store clippings, images etc. for later recalll, but it would be great if Sandy could make that process all that much easier.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?I'm interested in this as well, especially when it comes to collaboration. I like Sandy as a personal assistant, but what I'm looking for is one app that help manage my personal and professional life -- One Ring to Rule Them All! As Sandy integrates more with stikkit (I hope coming soon?) and becomes more useful for project management, attaching files to a note or meeting appointment/agenda seems key. It is one of the most impressive features or Wrike, but Wrike isn't as nice as Sandy and never offers me coffee.
-
Inappropriate? This is a great idea! I really like slicks idea about having 100 mbs and paying for more. I think that would help offset costs of hosting Sandy as well as give us great functionality.
-
Inappropriate?I agree! I started with Sandy when it was in private beta, and then stopped for a while and am now trying to really use her in earnest. I spent hours over the last few days looking at all sorts of online task tools (RTM, etc.) and Sandy has them all beat for ease of use and interaction, but I would have gone to another in a heartbeat if attachments were included somewhere. I cannot find any online task management tool with attachments. I don't pay for any online service, but I'd pay for that with Sandy if the cost was reasonable!
