Google Calendar Notifier (Firefox extension) and "I want Sandy" iCal feed
Is anyone using Firefox extension called Google Calendar Notifier in combination with "I want Sandy" iCal feed?! I do and there is a problem loading this Sandy iCal feed into the Google Calendar Notifier. It says "The calendar Sandy could not be loaded at this time". It seems to be a permanent error since it shows everyday. Has anyone had this problem too? Do you by any chance know how to fix it?!

Inappropriate?First, what calendar feed are you using? There are at least 2 of them. The private calendar feed and the Google Gadget feed. The Google Gadget feed (which is a test version) might be password protected. This could be your problem. (Example: http://iwantsandy.com/static/gcal_gad...)
The private calendar feed works well, but I've had some web sites require that I replace the beginning "http" with "webcal" in order to get it to work. Could this be your problem? (Example: http://iwantsandy.com/....../list.ics) -
Inappropriate?Hi Kevin, thanks for replying. I did use the private calendar feed. The thing is that the Google Calendar Notifier (FF extension) requires the xml version of the feed. In my Sandy calendar settings within my GCal I could find the xml feed for Sandy's calendar (starts with http://www.google.com/calendar/feeds/... and I am sure the notifier accepts http:// beginning.

Inappropriate? So you're not using the Sandy calendar feed directly in the FF extension. Instead, you've added the Sandy calendar feed to your Google Calendar. This adds a separate calendar (probably called "Sandy") to your collection of calendars in Google Calendar. Then you've gone into the settings for the "Sandy" calendar and tried to use that calendar feed in the FF extension. (There are at least 3 different options on that Google Calendar details screen. XML, iCal, and HTML)
Google Calendar seems to treat internal calendars (calendars created within Google Calendar) differently than it treats external calendars (calendars that Google Calendar subscribes too). I've noticed that the local calendars have an option for "sharing" and a "private address". (Go to the "manage calendars" screen to see a list of calendars and if they are "shared" or not.) The external calendars don't seem to have these options. I'm not sure what the restrictions are on a "Calendar Address" instead of a "Private Address". I suspect that the feed might be password protected. Can the FF extension use password protected feeds? Have you made the "Sandy" calendar "public"? Is there an option to do that?
