Has stikkit been abandonded?
Can any of the devs comment on this? Will there be any more development of stikkit or will it just stay as it is? Is there any chance of it being taken down? I would just like some more info on stikkit's development path. Thanks.

Hi folks,
I apologize for my much-delayed response, both to this query in particular and to any others outstanding on the state of Stikkit.
I have a more detailed post in the works chronicling some of the history, process and path from Stikkit (and before) to Sandy, but here I'll get straight to the point...
While Stikkit as a product will not be any further developed (at least at this juncture), no -- Stikkit is far from abandoned. It is being actively maintained and continues to serve its user-base every day.
I feel it important here making the distinction between abandonment and lack of further development. And I am not simply talking semantics here. There's a lot that goes on behind the scenes of a Web application Stikkit's size to keep things running smoothly, performing solidly, staying up-to-date, and with the all-but-nonexistent downtime you've no doubt experienced.
While Sandy and her elder sibling share much of the same DNA, Sandy is much closer to the original vision we had for our product: "to make organizing your daily details as simple a jotting down a note or firing off email." Sandy combines the power of the Stikkit platform with a much more focused, immediately-understandable, and purposeful approach.
I'll be glad to answer any other questions you might have.

Inappropriate?I've been wondering this myself. I've also asked about this and received no response at all. I've even posted on the Stikkit blog (which hasn't been updated since July). It looks bad for Stikkit.
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?Kinda sad. IMHO, as it is, Stikkit is a better product than Sandy. It would be great to see Stikkit get a little love.
C'mon devs.. if it's over, at least let us know so we don't get too invested!
I’m sad stikkit is getting no love
-
Inappropriate? The problem with this silence surrounding stikkit is that it is making people think that the same thing will happen to Sandy. In the end people will not commit to it because they will see that the company is not responding to these questions. Particularly sad since the two products could combine really well. There's no reason why Sandy could not convert messages to stikkits.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?Bump because I feel that the lack of response to this topic needs to be seen by Sandy users.
-
Inappropriate?Bumping again. Any news on Stikkit?
(I actually like Sandy better.) -
Inappropriate?Hi folks,
I hear you and have every intention of responding in full later today. I apologize for my much delayed response to this thread and assure you it has absolutely been due to lack of mindwidth rather than anything else.

Inappropriate?Hi Rael,
Thanks for the response. I'll look forward to your full response later today.
Cheers.
I’m happy a dev showed up
-
Inappropriate?Yes, thanks Rael. You have a lot of Sandy users here with a lot of questions. So, understood if you can't get to all of them immediately!
I’m glad you're here

Inappropriate?Rael:
Thanks for the candid reply. An answer that isn't quite what I'd hoped for is certainly better than no answer at all. Thanks for your willingness to speak on the subject.
Now that this has been "officially" stated, I'm going to create another thread discussing some of the pros/cons of Sandy vs Stikkit. I feel that in many ways Stikkit is a more useful product than Sandy, so it concerns me a bit to hear you say that Sandy is closer to your original vision than Stikkit is. I hope that these comments will be viewed in the "constructive criticism" context in which they are intended. Hopefully this can start some discussion to inform the development of Sandy since Stikkit is being left "as is" for the time being.

I’m not happy, cause I loved Stikkit... but glad someone finally said something

Inappropriate?HI RAEL !!!
I JUST GOT OFF THE CONNECTION WITH BROOKE OVER AT JOTT !!!!
SHE ALSO THOUGHT THAT IT WAS AN AMAZING IDEA TO BE ABLE TO JOTT TO STIKKIT!!!
SHE SAID TO ASK YOU TO MAKE A CUSTOM LINK!
WOULD YOU PLEASE??
I'm sure it won't take much effort on your part since Jott has an open API and so do you...
THANK YOU RAEL!!!
I’m excited
-
Inappropriate? The blind copying has been causing a lot of chaos and my jotts to my stikkit email address have simply resulted in Jott Server Errors...
I’m excited
-
Inappropriate?Actually, I find that (at least for me) Stikkit works better for storing some information - e.g. contacts.
-
Inappropriate? So here's the thing that Stikkit has that Sandy doesn't - a bookmarklet that lets you add new items. That would be good. Also, a bookmarklet/widget/whatever for seeing your outstanding Sandy items would be grand.
Thank you, I await the new features in the next release!
J.
I’m overly optimistic
