How can I refresh the ical feed sent to Google Calendar?
Is there a way I can just send a refresh to Google Calendar?
They don't seem to be able to figure it out on their end. Is there a way Sandy can figure it out on her end so she can either send an automatic refresh every 10 or 15 minutes, or at least a manual option where we can just click on something and it will automatically send a fresh ical feed to update Google Calendar?
The more people who ask this question, the more it gets noticed.

Inappropriate? It's kinda odd. The iCal feed that I have in Outlook works fine, but like the OP I can't get Google Calender to update at all. Even if I delete the feed and try to remake it.

Inappropriate?I've been wondering the same thing for a long time now. It seems my Google Calendar only gets my Sandy updates every day or so...I love Sandy but I use my Google calendar for SO many things...there has got to be an explanation for this.
Glad I'm not the only one with this problem!

Inappropriate?I'm even more frustrated that no one from I Want Sandy has replied. I love I Want Sandy, but I can't seem to get help from anyone.
I can't ever get my Google Calendar to update. I've followed everything on the site they've told me. I was REALLY hoping one of the administrators would respond and solve this mystery.
I just have a hard time believing that in today's technological world it is that difficult to put a button up so we can manually update Google Calendar if nothing else. I don't know, maybe it is more difficult than I suspect.
If anyone from I Want Sandy is out there, could you please respond and let us know if anyone is working on this or ???
Thank you in advance for listening and responding to us.
I’m very, very frustrated

Inappropriate?I'll chime in too with the frustration !! I had it working for a day, but now none of the Sandy items even show up as reminders on my Google Calendar. I've gone through the set up several times. The feeds are going to my Outlook (even though I don't want them to) and I can't figure out how to stop that, but NOTHING is going to my Google Calendar from Sandy. What gives ??

Inappropriate?Same goes here. Very frustrating - I've been experimenting with various calendar and organizer apps such as iscrybe, 30boxes, stikkit etc and the real sticking point seems to be getting synchronisation between creating events and getting them to show up correctly in the calendar. The last thing I need is for it to be correct in my todo app and wrong in my calendar.
Also, I was using iwantsandy on UK time and date settings but this was always giving me the wrong end date after I saved an event. It only seems to work ok with US settings

Inappropriate?READY TO CALL IT OFF WITH SANDY! CAN'T SYNC MEANS NO DICE, CAN'T USE IT AND DON"T WANT TO WASTE ANYMORE TIME. I WILL BE TAKING ALL MY STAFF OFF i WANT SANDY THIS WEEK....
I’m no longer dealing with it

Inappropriate?Have the same problem. Isn't this iCal thing supposed to be a FEED... something that automatically adds events to the Google Calendar shortly after they are added to Sandy? And we shouldn't have to "refresh" the Calendar manually? It would be nice if someone from Sandy would respond with a resolution, or at least come out and explain that it's a glitch they have tried to address but have been unsuccessful. "I want Sandy is here! 3 employees are listening and participating." Where's the participation? It would be nice to know that they are listening to us and at least trying to resolve the problem.
I’m wondering why Sandy lists this as a viable option when it doesn't work for so many people.

Inappropriate? This is actually a problem with Google Calendar. It's occasionally slow or doesn't update at all, and people get frustrated.
The primary problem is that Google Calendar doesn't provide a way to force an immediate refresh of a feed that it's subscribed to. It really should. This would make it much easier for people to figure out the cause of any problems. It would be easy to see if the problem is how frequently Google Calendar refreshes the data it is subscribed to, rather than the problem being with the service that it is subscribed to.
As far as I know, the calendar feed is only one way. Every so often, Google Calendar is supposed to request a new version of the calendar feed. It's impossible for Sandy (or any other feed provider) to force Google Calendar to refresh it's data. So the problem is with Google. As an example, 30boxes provides a button that will force it to immediately update a feed that it is subscribed to. So this is a feature that other calendars have. (Note: A side effect of the one way connection makes it difficult, if not impossible, to modify Sandy events inside of Google Calendar.)
Currently, the only way to force Google Calendar to refresh a feed it is subscribed to is to unsubscribe and resubscribe to the feed you want to update. This is rather inconvenient. (See http://getsatisfaction.com/iwantsandy...)
The only other option is to wait. Google Calendar seems to refresh the feeds it is subscribed to once every 3 hours or so. (Except when it's longer.) -
Google Calendar also doesn't support username/password authentication for subscribing to iCalendar feeds. ( iCal (Mac) and Outlook 2007 (PC) do.) -
Inappropriate?I'm trying to like Sandy, but it isn't working out so well. It seems like this would be a fairly simple fix for Sandy. I have a Pocket PC that syncs my mobile calendar (both ways) with my Google Calendar. Yes, I know that "syncing" is different than a feed update, but the end result is the same... my mobile calendar is exactly the same as my Google calendar.
Since I can use Jott to add events to my Google Calendar and Jott will also send me reminders as well... I find myself using Jott and not Sandy.
Sandy is a good idea, but she won't be a great help until she can read/write my calendar. I'm not switching to hers.

Inappropriate?Same here. I loved using it for the same reason above. Sync to Google calendar, then Google pushes to my work calendar which pushes it to my phone. (ridiculous I know) This worked fine for a month or so, but has stopped with both my RSS feeds and Google. I've refreshed a few times and it works for a while then nothing. Based upon above, it sounds more like a Google issue (Imagine that!) What would be a better solution for us users of that feed. Especially the mobile phone idea. (if Pocket outlook would allow access to that ics calendar feed.
I’m worried. But more for future google interaction.

Inappropriate?Sandy events aren't showing up in Google Calendar over 4 and a half hours later. Maybe it's Google's fault. Maybe it's Sandy's. I don't know. I'm afraid, though, it's a make or break for me.
If this is a long-standing known issue with Google, however, then why would Sandy advertise that it could sync with Gcal on it's site? Obviously it can't so why get people's hopes up?
I've spent a few hours investigating Sandy today as a newbie but most of the things I've tried - email reminders, automatic refreshing of Sandy events in Google calendar - just don't work. Maybe they did for people in the past but they don't for me so I'm going to call it quits for a while and hope Sandy comes out of beta sooner than later.
I’m resigned
