How can I send something to notes if it has a date in it?
How can I send something to notes if it has a date in it? If I send something like: Remember Tom's birthday is 5/11/1979 it gets set as an appointment for May 11,1979. Sometimes I just need Sandy to remember something that has a date in it.

Inappropriate? It's been mentioned in the Sandy's cheat sheet (http://iwantsandy.com/help/cheatsheet). Use quotation marks to make Sandy omit a text string while parsing.
-
Inappropriate? Also, if you add @yearly to it, it will show up every year on that date.
-
Inappropriate?Actually, it will not show up every year since there's no date set for the item.

Inappropriate?"Remember Tom's birthday is 5/11/1979"
tagged with @yearly won't show up every year? -
Inappropriate?Correct, since the date is in quotation marks thus Sandy will not detect it as a date (it will be ignored). Mind you, it should actually be: Remember "Tom's birthday is 5/11/1979". Notice that Remember cannot be in quotation marks.
On the other hand if the request read:
Remember "Tom's birthday" 5/11/1979
THAT would create an item "Tom's birthday" and set a date Nov 5 for this item. Here you can use @yearly to be notified every year on Nov 5 about Tom's birthday. -
Inappropriate? Thanks for the clarification. Your second example is more in line with what I intended. Looking back, I see that I did not type what I meant.
