How can I tell Sandy this without confusing her?
How can I convince Sandy to remind me on July 8 and not tomorrow, when I say "Remind me on July 8th at 8 am that I have a dentist appt. at 10 am"? I've tried doing things like this, too: "Remind me on July 7th at 8 pm that I have a dentist appointment in the morning." Both of these reminders I received back from Sandy the next day. I keep trying to think of ways of wording this reminder so I can give myself a reminder and also put the time of the appointment in.

Inappropriate?Aha, a related topic just came up: I think I can put the parts of the sentence I don't want to be interpreted in quotes, e.g.
Remind me on July 8th at 8 am that "the dentist appt. is at 10 am".

Inappropriate? You can also do this. Send email with:
remember Dentist appointment Jul 8 10am @reply
When you get a confirmation from Sandy that she created this new appointment, then you reply to it with:
remind me jul 8 8am
I know it's a bit more work (2 emails instead of 1), but this way you create an appointment with a correct date and time (July 8 @ 10am) and a reminder set the same day at 8am. It will make a difference if you sync Sandy's calendar with, let's say, Google Calendar and you want to have an appointment set to an actual appt time.
