iCal subscriptions per tag/search/whatever
What i'm really looking for is some way share a sub-set of my items with others.
The more people who like this idea, the more it gets noticed.

Inappropriate?Howdy Jos,
You can indeed subscribe to either an iCalendar feed or an RSS feed that includes only a particular subset of the things Sandy is remembering for you.
1. Visit http://iwantsandy.com/list .
2. Filter the results using any combination of search terms (in the Search box on the top-right) and filtering knobs in the right-hand sidebar.
3. Copy the URL from your browser's address bar.
4. Replace the /list part with /list.ics for an iCalendar feed of just those things, /list.rss for an RSS feed of the same.
Note that you will in all likelihood be asked to authenticate by your calendar application or RSS reader since this does not include your private iCalendar key.
I believe that gets you at least part way there... please do let us know what we can do to make that better and easier.

Inappropriate? Is this new? This could potentially be awesome, but I'm finding some discrepancies.
For example, if I wanted a RSS of just @todo, and exclude @done items, it appears the URL that works is:
http://iwantsandy.com/list?text=%40to...
...but when I convert to RSS by adding the "list.rss" part, it still includes @done items in the feed.
If this worked as advertised, I would be in heaven.
I’m almost excited...

This example link has an error. The "text=@todo" part should be replaced with "tags=todo". Also, when using the RSS feed /list.rss?tags=todo&blahblah, it only lists the first "page" of results. Which is 25 items -
Inappropriate?Ahh, that's excellent. I would add somekind of link directly to an RSS/iCal feed with the URL already created, so you don't have to manually mess with the URL. But the functionality is good.
As you say, having some kind of "private" key, so that you can give the URL away, without having to give away your password would be a great next step.
One gotcha is that in Lightning (thunderbird's calendar plugin), the ical feed dosen't seem to have the reminder set - in fact, looking at the .ics file, i don't see the reminder either. Is it published to the ics?
Thanks!
jos
I’m thankful

Inappropriate?I also had the same problem initially. But after you filter your results, select the "todo" tag from the "Special tag" area. Then change the url to list.rss/ and you should have what you want, your current incomplete todo's.

Inappropriate? The new URLs should make this even easier, but it doesn't seem to work yet.

Inappropriate? The earlier replies here have an error. They contain the phrase "text=@todo".
You should never look for tags as text. Searching for items that contain some text phrase has nothing to do with searching for items with a certain tag.
Searching for "text=@todo" will only return those items that contain the actual text phrase "@todo". This is usually only found in the "context" of the item. Example: "remember to buy milk @todo".
Any item tagged as todo after it was created will not contain the "@todo" text phrase. And, the items that do contain the text phrase "@todo" in their context will always contain it. There's no way to remove it. Tagging the item as @done, and/or removing the @todo tag, won't change this.
