Is it possible to change the font in the web interface?
I love Sandy. She's awesome. And I think the realignment of the web interface is pretty good overall, but please, please, please, is it possible to not see the Comic Sans?
I'm not a type Nazi, but the new type treatment actually makes me want to not visit.

Inappropriate?I think Comic Sans or Chalkboard feel like the site is reaching to hard to humanize her. I want a personal assistant who gets things typed up. A nice helvetica would do.
I’m confused

Inappropriate?seconded
-
Inappropriate?We beg you...PLEASE...anything but Comic Sans
-
Inappropriate?Wow! B*tching about a font? Allow the devs to bring the service to where it should be and then they can worry about the unimportant cosmetic "touches". If you live on the web for Sandy, I guess it could be a semi-issue. But if you're allowing Sandy to update your calendar, send you emails and SMS's then is that really a problem?
-
Inappropriate?Golly, I don't know! It is a web app designed to run inside of a browser. It'd be nice if it didn't want to make us claw our eyes out.
Edit: to point out it didn't used to use that stylesheet -
Inappropriate?It'd be great to see this thread acknowledged by Sandy peeps. A reasoned explanation of the choice of font would help.
-
Inappropriate?If is that bad why don't you people force Firefox (or whatever browser you are using) to display only the hip fonts you think are cool? Or, get rid of the Comic Sans font in your computer library so the Sandy website will display your default font instead. Easy!
-
Inappropriate?Yeah, I actually used Firefox's "Stylish" extension to override the font-family. :P
-
Inappropriate?Apparently you're not aware of the way that CSS works.
There is a list of fonts that Sandy will tell your browser to use. If you don't accept Comic Sans, it will load an impossible-to-read-Cursive variant.
It isn't "hip fonts that you think are cool", but thanks for trivializing usability!

Inappropriate?ah-ha! if only safari could do that.
i find myself going back and forth between flock/firefox/safari during the day for whatever reason, but i think i'll be looking at Stylish. -
Inappropriate?Here's what I used. (Wrapper stuff added by Stylish automatically)
@namespace url(http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml);
@-moz-document domain("iwantsandy.com") {
div.note-inner {
font-family: "Lucida Sans Unicode" !important;
}
}
You can change the font as you like, but I think that one works pretty well.

Inappropriate?I am aware and that was my point, if you do not have Comic Sans installed in your computer the browser will load the next font specified by CSS (if there is any). If there isn't, it will load your default font. If you hate that impossible to read cursive variant as well (if specified by CSS), you can delete it too so you will never see it again either and so on until you have none of those sinister variants specified by CSS, usually no more than 4. The big plus: you will never see them again (while using that computer). Unless of course, are on an image. Good luck!
I’m happy

Inappropriate?right. i should go deleting fonts.
thanks mister helper. -
Inappropriate?perfect, thanks.
until sandy is fixed, i recommend people go this route. easy peesy.
I’m thankful

Inappropriate?Much better than trying to force the developers to change the fonts of THEIR website for your pleasure. Most people here can read Comic Sans.
And you are welcome mister font. -
Inappropriate?Oh I can read it just fine. The problem lies in the fact that "Comic Sans" is really just a lame excuse for a typeface, it's bad for headers, and even worse for body text. It was probably coded into the CSS by someone who uses a mac and doesn't know just how bad it looks. (Not hatin' on mac users here, but last time I checked they don't have Comic Sans...)
It's not about readability. It's about aesthetics. And this is the only thing that I don't like about Sandy. (Otherwise, awesome service guys!) -
Inappropriate?If you take a look under the Copyright line right now, there are two new small links that will turn it on and off

Thanks for the tipoff, srtech.

Inappropriate?Awesome to see a response, even if it ended up being 'under the radar', instead of a community conversation w/ Sandy-ians. Thanks for listening, you silent builders of awesomeness!
However, this isn't working for me using Firefox trunk builds. Is this working for others in Firefox 2? -
Inappropriate?At the end of the day, it is always about the looks! :-) sigh!
The developers now gave us the option to change it so lets go all crazy!
I’m kidding
-
Inappropriate?Yup, works great for me...
-
Inappropriate?Howdy,
I was up late and none of you sleepyheads were around, so I took the few minutes of quiet time and had a little under-the-radar fun.
Enjoy!
