lookup @todo
When I send "lookup @todo" it not only returns the outstanding todos but also every email I've sent (of which there are many) where I included @todo as an item, many of which are now done.
Any way that this could be excluded from lookup of emails?

Inappropriate?Hi folks,
We've been trying to have Sandy balance providing enough information so that you don't have to look something up twice and not providing too much. And so when you look something up she not only returns any matching appointments, to-dos, contacts, bookmarks, lists, etc but also the assocaited messages in case it was something in the text of the message you were looking for.
But you're right, in this case you were clearly looking for a @todo and so obviously weren't simply searching for "@todo" anywhere in any message.
I've been wanting to have Sandy stay more focused on lookups of this sort, returning messages only when you were clearly looking for text or there was nothing else she found that matched. At the same time, I've been considering whether to just have her never return message matches unless you asked for them like so: "lookup email gala dinner" or "look up messages containing gala dinner".
I'm glad to hear from you with more grist for this mill.

Inappropriate? How about a preference setting so when sandy looks up you can choose whether she looks up email when responding to a lookup or just includes items (excluding archived).

Inappropriate?I've had the same objection, I think it's too wordy and returns things I never seem to want.
But rather than add another preference, I'd rather see Sandy do the smart thing. I think Rael's suggestions are better: return messages matching only when the look up doesn't otherwise returns something, or maybe only when you specify "look up messages". Either would be sufficient as far as I can see.
I’m optimistic

Inappropriate?I'd love to see this too. The email messages in a lookup are really quite annoying. Rael's suggestions would work nicely as far as I'm concerned.
I’m hopeful.
