Not receiving SMS messages on T-Mobile UK
Not much to explain here other than, I cannot receive a confirmation code and therefore use the SMS feature on a T-Mobile UK phone. I've tried entering in different formats for the number and resending the code several times.

Inappropriate?Same problem here... I tried every combination and permutation of my number with/without country code
I’m annoyed
-
Inappropriate?Same here, however I'm with Fido Canada.
I'm not sure if this is an issue with my Carrier, or an issue with Sandy.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?Hi folks,
We've been having great success getting folks going on particular mobile networks by doing a little one-on-one testing. Please do visit the conversation on this very topic already in progress at http://gsfn.us/t/3wl for more details.
Hamish, there's some detail on Fido Canada in that thread too -- in particular, read through Marshall's responses.
We'll do all we can to get you sorted, folks!

Inappropriate?Hi again,
If you're up for a couple of experiments to help us diagnose just what is happening here, let's see if we can get you up and running.
If your 10-digit mobile number were, for the sake of example: 1234 567 890, visit Sandy's mobile settings at http://iwantsandy.com/settings/mobile, select "Other" from the list of providers, and type in 1234567890@t-mobile.uk.net if you're on T-Mobile UK. Click the Save button and Sandy will try again to send you a confirmation code.
Wait a few minutes (at the most) to see if it arrives. If so, then type the code you were sent into the Confirmation code field at http://iwantsandy.com/settings/mobile, click Save, and you're up and running.
Please do let us know if that works for you.
Rael
P.s. Hamish, Fido Canada should be working for you at this point according to this thread of conversation: http://gsfn.us/t/3wl . Please let us know if you've still no SMS joy.
I’m hopeful

Inappropriate?Hey,
Thanks for the link, Rael!
Using my phones email gateway does work, but unfortunately Fido is taking hours to get the text message to me. I've noticed this before, and Jon B also mentions it in the link you gave me.
I’m annoyed at fido...

Inappropriate?Tried again, with my normal number, and it works.
There was a short delay (5 minutes or so) -- but at least it works!
I’m happy
-
Inappropriate?Glad to hear it, Hamish!

Inappropriate?I tried using the email->sms gateway for T-mobile.uk.net and a few hours later I still see no SMS.
I've also tried sending an email directly to number@t-mobile.uk.net I've tried with/without country/area code but all result in a bounce message. I don't think T-mobile UK supports email-sms anymore.

Inappropriate?Hi Rael, I also tried 774034****@t-mobile.co.uk and 0774034****@t-mobile..co.uk, and 774034****@t-mobile.net.uk, and 0774034****@t-mobile..net.uk and 44774034****@t-mobile.uk.net, and 44774034****@t-mobile.co.uk all with no confirmation code being received. Obviously the stars are replacing real digits in my number. To be honest I don't think that T-Mobile UK supports email-->sms. I'd really like to help getting this set up. Is there anything else I can do to help test it out?
I’m Frustrated

Inappropriate?Hi Stefletch,
I have been scouring T-Mobile UK's site but keep getting redirected from their Help section every time I find something potentially useful since I don't have a login. If you're able to look around, perhaps you could see if there's a spot where you need to turn on email to text?

You need to first enable the Mobile Email service. This can be done via a phone call *or* you can login to T-Mobile and enable it yourself under "Plan". It's a free service but you have to pay for receiving incoming SMS at 10p/Text regardless if you have texts included in your plan. I set it up and it worked for the first email I sent to my phone, then after I now get
SMTP error from remote mailer after RCPT TO:<XXXXXXXXXXX@t-mobile.uk.net>:
host searchmx.name-services.com [82.165.182.106]:
550 User does not exist
So I look forward to seeing how their technical support are able to deal with this one. Anyway in theory you just do what I told you and it works. If I get any more details I'll come back here.
Good day all.

Inappropriate?I've got the same problem, but with Vodafone UK - I never receive the sms with the confirmation code. I've tried all the combinations too. Help please.

Inappropriate?I had some dialogue with Rael... we still can't get Vodafone UK working, and I don't know details of their email to SMS gateway. However, we've solved the problem by using Twitter as a work around. I didn't realise you could set Twitter up so that you have SMS notifications turned off except for direct messages (from Sandy or anyone else). Now that I've activated Sandy with Twitter I get my reminders via SMS, and I can SMS back instructions when I need to too.

Inappropriate?Same problem with Orange UK. Happy to try anything you suggest.

I have the same problem with Orange UK too. Twitter is an ok work around for now but I'd much rather be directly interacting via sms with Sandy. -
Inappropriate?David,
Thanks - I will use Sandy via Twitter DM (which does seem reliable.)
