this didn't work as a twitter direct message via twhirl: r amy's rehearsal may 30 5:45-6:30pm at Hill School Center for the Arts @sms
I'm wondering why not.

Hi Jim!
I just tried this myself via Sandy's "New" form [http://iwantsandy.com/new] and it worked like a charm; here's the result:
* Sat, 5/30/2009 5:45 - 6:30pm Amy's rehearsal at Hill School Center for the Arts @sms
What happened for you? Did you not receive a response from Sandy? Or was she confused by what you wrote? Did you direct message Sandy on Twitter (her username is "s")? If you just wrote...
r amy's rehearsal may 30 5:45-6:30pm at Hill School Center for the Arts @sms
...that won't work as Sandy won't know you're speaking to her.
You need to direct message her like this:
d s r amy's rehearsal may 30 5:45-6:30pm at Hill School Center for the Arts @sms
(That's "d"irect message "s"andy (user "s") "r"emember ...)

Inappropriate?sorry I should have been more clear. My exact tweet to sandy via twhirl was as follows...
d s r amy's rehearsal may 30 5:45-6:30pm at Hill School Center for the Arts @sms
and this is the reply I recieved from her:
Hei! To remember/remind: "d s r take a break in 15 min"; To update: "d s u 1 @done"; For more: iwantsandy.com/examples
I actually made three or four attempts, slightly tweaking my message each time. The one above is the next to last one. For the final one, which worked, I simply typed
d s r amy rehearsal friday 5:45-6:30 @sms
I’m confused
