Reminders sent when item marked @done
If I write the following "Remind me next Monday to print my resignation letter @todo" Sandy, quite rightly, sends me a todo next Monday.
If, however, I complete the todo before then and mark it @done Sandy still sends me a reminder and I can see, from a 'programming perspective, why she is doing this. What we are trying to do, however, is to get Sandy to behave like a 'real' assistant and if I told my secretary that I had done something I would not expect her to remind me later that about something I had told her I had already done.
Ideally what should happen is that marking an item @done should cancel any reminder set for this item.

Inappropriate?A related issue, which I've reported separately, is that Sandy continues to carry items with their original due dates forever, even if I snooze them with "remind me next week." This feels like non-intuitive behavior to me.

Inappropriate?Same thing happened to me today and I was a bit surprised. I assumed that since @done is a predefined tag it was hard-coded into the system to automatically cancel reminders for items completed earlier. Something to think about.

Inappropriate?Howdy,
Sandy should indeed have cancelled the reminder when you marked the item as done. Is this happening with each and every to-do item marked as @done? Or only one so far? And did it start very recently for you?
We've been working with Sandy on changing the behavior of some reminders. I'll take a gander at this particular issue though.

Inappropriate?Hi again,
I just double-checked this and while marking a to-do or appointment (or anything else with a reminder set) as archived stops it from reminding you, somewhere along the line, Sandy stopped doing the same for to-dos marked as done.
We've had a chat and, starting tomorrow, Sandy will no longer send out reminders for done to-dos.
Thanks for pointing out the issue, Norbiq!

Inappropriate?Hi again, Norbiq and Microdoc!
This fix is in the midst of being deployed to our servers as I write this.

Inappropriate?Hi Rich,
Sorry to only be noticing this now...
So your thought is that if you snooze something it should change the date and time? What about snoozing a reminder for another 5 minutes on an appointment I have at 2pm -- the appointment is still on for 2pm; only the reminder has been snoozed. Any thoughts?

Inappropriate?Well... that situation would very rarely apply to me, because I don't usually snooze reminders for timed items, only for all-day items like todos.
Example of what i do: I get a reminder at 6am to "call Gary" and I reply with "u#1 tomorrow" to put it off. So I go to bed and get up tomorrow. "Call Gary" is no longer on "today's" todo list, because the item is still attached to "yesterday."
I may be confused about how things work, so I'll experiment a little more in the course of my normal work, and will repost here if there is still a problem.
