If Sandy won't seem to follow you back on Twitter, most often the issue is that for some reason Twitter's auto-follow didn't fire when you followed Sandy.
The fix is simply to un-follow Sandy and then re-follow her; to do so...
1. Visit http://twitter.com/s
2. Click the word "Following" under Sandy's picture at the top-left of the page
3. Click the "Remove" button to stop following Sandy
Twitter will update the page to show that you're no longer following Sandy. When you see the "Follow" button appear under Sandy's picture (in place of the "Following" link mentioned in step 2 above)...
4. Click the "Follow" button to re-follow Sandy
Then visit your Twitter home page at http://twitter.com/home and you should see Sandy's picture under your list of followers in the right-hand sidebar (you may need to click the "View all" link and page through until you find her if you're popular).
When you see her there, you know she's following you back — at which point you can head over to http://iwantsandy.com/settings/twitter and get things set up on the Sandy side of things.

I'm trying to do as you said with the dropdown menu, and it's not working. And she hasn't sent me a confirmation yet, which I'm assuming is because I couldn't click the radio button.
