Sandy incorrectly detected reminder as wakeup call
Incorrectly detected reminder as wakeup call. Message from Jott was "Remember: call bank." Sandy detected this as a wakeup call, not a reminder. The cheat sheet (http://iwantsandy.com/help/cheatsheet) doesn't give any clues on how to avoid this. Can I not use the word "call" in reminders?

Inappropriate? The description you give is very confusing. What do you mean by "wakeup call"? Can you give some more information on just what you mean?
Do you mean that Sandy called you in the morning? Did she specifically call in order to wake you up? What time did she call? Did she send you an email or did she call your cell phone? Did she actually call, or did she send you an sms message? What did it say? Can you give a description of what the event looks like on the Sandy website? When did Sandy schedule it? Is it a repeating event? Does it have a reminder, at what time? Any other important details? hint, hint.
My best guess right now is that you didn't provide a time, so Sandy scheduled it for the default time, 7 am. And she set a reminder for the event at the default time of 15 minutes before the event. Odd how the reminder was sent to your phone when the message didn't use the @sms tag. But maybe you have the global setting turned on that Sandy should send you sms reminders about everything. (http://iwantsandy.com/settings/mobile)
Did you receive a 6:45 am sms message from Sandy reminding you to call the bank?

Inappropriate? Here are the contents of the email I got:
---------------------
Your wake-up call:
7:00am Call Bank.
* email and sms reminders at 7:00am
To snooze this reminder until tomorrow, reply with: snooze until tomorrow
----------------
I think I understand the problem now - this Jott was transcribed as "Reminder", not "Remember" (I got it incorrect in the original problem report, sorry).
This apparently caused it to be a one-time event, and not show up with my other actve "remember" items in "Your Stuff -> Any Type". Instead, I only got the "wake up" call email listed above, and I had to click on the date to see the item. This confused me, because I really wanted it to be a "remember" item and show up in "Your Stuff" until I marked it complete.
Thanks for the response, still slowly figuring out Sandy's nuances...
I’m happy

Inappropriate?Glad you figured it out. Using "Reminder" instead of "Remember" solves one of the other things that confused me. I'm still curious why you didn't get a reminder 15 minutes before 7 am though. Maybe you've changed your default reminder time. (http://iwantsandy.com/settings/datetime)
I definitely recommend using the "most recently updated" list to track new items that you've created. (i.e. "Your Stuff -> Any Type" http://iwantsandy.com/list) It's easy and it shows all items, sorted by the last time you updated the item. (It includes items of all types, although it doesn't include items tagged with @archive.) There are a couple of odd things to watch out for though.
First, the list doesn't show anything for those Jotts or emails where an error happened and Sandy failed to find something to do. I cannot tell you how annoying this is. I would like to be able to use the "most recently updated" list to manage all my Sandy communications, fix things that were transcribed incorrectly, etc. But I can't rely on this list. Instead, every day I have to worry about the possibility that some error happened and check either Sandy's emails (http://iwantsdandy.com/email) or my own email account for anything where she responds and says "I got your jott [email] but couldn't find anything you asked me to do." I would like for Sandy to create something, anything, so that I could have a list of the cases where she didn't understand something. That way I would have a specific place I could check for those errors.
Second, by default, the "most recently updated" list hides two things, 1) old events, and 2) @done items. See the links at the top of the list page "Show done to-dos" and "Show past". This is the most likely reason you weren't able to see the "call bank" event in the list. Because you didn't look at the list before the event occurred. (i.e. You didn't look at the list between whenever you created the event, say 2 pm on the first day, and 7:00 am the next morning.)
