Sandy not correctly interpreting mutliple tags on a reminder
I posted this problem on getsatisfaction.com two days ago, but have not heard back from any support staff, so I am reposting.
I've created three tags to help me prioritize my todos. These tags are simply the numbers "1", "2", and "3". "1" is the most important task, and "3" is something I can worry about later.
Until Friday, the 27th of June, Sandy would correctly interpret any reminder I emailed the website, or which I created from the Daily Digest page by hitting the "New" button. For example, if I emailed Sandy "remember to post furniture on Craigslist @todo @1", Sandy would correctly tag this as a todo with a priority of 1. If I emailed Sandy with "remember to check tire pressure @todo @3", Sandy would correctly interpret this as a todo task with a priority of 3.
Since Friday, however, Sandy is no longer interpreting the second tag properly. The same examples above are now being interpreted as "Post furniture on Craigslist @1" and "Check tire pressure @3". The seconf @ symbol is being completely ignored as a tag marker.
I've since tried testing multiple tagging using text, and this works ok. For example, "remember to post furniture on Craigslist @todo @high" and "remember to check tire pressure @todo @low" correctly gets tagged with a todo and high/low. Why is Sandy no longer correctly intepreting tags that consist of numbers?
I have come to rely heavily on Sandy, so please let me know of a workaround ASAP, since at this point I'm having to use other methods to keep my todos organized.

Inappropriate?Hi Faisal,
I will take a gander at this today and am sure it is a simple conflict I introduced that can be easily fixed.
Good catch!

this solves the problem

This problem are not resolved... -
Inappropriate?It`s cool.

Inappropriate? This is still not working. I've tried several examples and all the tags consisting of only numbers behaved as described.
remember to post furniture on Craigslist @todo @1
remember to post furniture on Craigslist @1 @todo
remember to post furniture on Craigslist today @todo @1
remember to post furniture on Craigslist @todo @12
etc..
In the meantime, I guess you have to use tags that consist of both letters and numbers. Try using @p1, it works great. (I tried using @priority1, but when I use Jott it keeps being interpreted as "@priority @one". @p1 works fine.) -
i`m using сyrillic tags. -
Inappropriate?konstak,
That's very interesting. Do I understand you correctly, that you're attempting to create a tag using Cyrillic characters? And Sandy's not interpreting the tags correctly?
Are you trying to create/modify tags through email or on the website?
> remember to buy milk @todo @somestringofcyrilliccharacters
Do we need a thread for non-ascii characters? (Like Cyrillic and Russian, etc.) Maybe something like this thread? http://getsatisfaction.com/iwantsandy... -
Inappropriate?Yes.
I`m using both Cyrillic (russian) and latin characters. It`s looks like:
remember somestringofcyrilliccharacters today 11:00 @job @email @todo @somestringofcyrilliccharacters @somestringofcyrilliccharacters
and Sandy parsing it`s like:
somestringofcyrilliccharacters
with correct time and tags email job and todo
(no cyrillic tags)
tags inside web part of sandy are without "@" sign
At my point of view we do not need a thread for non-ASCII characters. It`s everything was OK earlier...
I’m ok

Inappropriate?Thanks for the clarification konstak.
Hopefully the iwantsandy people will pay attention and fix the problem they introduced. Where tags can't use non-alpha characters. (Both numbers and Cyrillic characters.) -
Inappropriate? The problems involving tags like @1 and @2 comes from a recent change where sandy now recognizes tags starting with # as well as @. This means she now has a bit of difficulty distinguishing when you're trying to tag something @1 versus trying to change item #1 in a result.

Inappropriate?I thought I'd post Rael's response to the problem I was having (Rael is a Sandy rep). Apparently tags starting with a number will not be interpreted as tags (which explains kevin1's post above).
I still think that numbers are a simple way to prioritize a task, and it's more of a pain to use the tags "@high" or "@medium" instead of "@1" or "@2" (see below).
Honestly I haven't used Sandy in a while (in favor of Remember the Milk's more robust interface), but I might give Sandy another shot.
Faisal
Hi Faisal,
Sorry you ran into this!
We were occasionally having some issues with folks using # instead of
@ for tagging and — when used in combination with numbers (ex. #1 or
#2), Sandy was becoming confused thinking they were trying to refer to
a numbered item.
So in order to support (rather than simply reject) # as an alternative
to @ and also fix the issues around folks using #1 when they meant @1,
we had Sandy only start recognizing tags starting with a letter
(rather than a letter or a number).
While we always try to make sure that any changes we make don't
adversely affect folks like yourself, we appear to have missed your
usage pattern in the shuffle.
What I'd suggest is using @low, @medium, @high, etc from here on out
(or a similar alternative). If this really is a source of trouble for
you, I can certainly dig in a little deeper to see what we might be
able to do to accommodate your @1, @2 usage.
Best,
Rael

It`s cool, but what about multiple cyrillic tags?
