Sandy not updating correctly when updating things as done
update #1 #2 #3 and Sandy only updates the first one.
update #1 #2 #3 @archive @done
While I know I don't necessarily need to put the done tag, Sandy has only updated with the first item. I'll try one per line.
The more people who ask this question, the more it gets noticed.

Inappropriate? All right, here is the way I did this. You'll see Sandy, then my response. Now I'm stuck archiving these on the web.
Kunjhani, Jared!
I updated this:

Does this make any sense? I also as above tried
update #1 #2 #3 @archive
I also added the done tag, as well. Guess I'll have to update the things as I get the E-mails like I used to do. Does this make sense or did I miss something? -
Inappropriate?I've since archived the items via web. But I am still curious, so if staff can let me know what I'm missing, that'd be great!
-
Inappropriate?Have you tried adding a space in between each line?
update #1 @archive
update #2 @archive
update #3 @archive
I think I ran across a similar problem with adding stuff and found I had to add in a blank line in between items. -
Inappropriate?I was able to add things with no subject and only skipping one line but I can give it a shot, but from what I've read, you were supposed to do it as shown or as follows update #1 #2 #3 and whatever tags you wanted. That does help though.
-
Inappropriate?Staff, I have not received a response to this, and it has been some time. I've also E-mailed help two days ago as I've had a question on time zones which I thought I posted here, but maybe not, but this would be something I'd like answered. A very frustrated:
-
Inappropriate?Just to keep this thread alive, this is still broken. As Tatiana suggests putting a blank line between update lines is indeed a viable work around.
I do notice Sandy does not have this problem with forgets, I can have as many of those as I want with no blank lines in between and Sandy parses all of them. If I mix forgets and updates (e.g. in response to my daily digest) all the forgets get parsed, but only the first update.
I’m getting a little frustrated figuring out all of Sandy's quirks.

This definately needs to be answered by I want Sandy. As i indicated, I've almost l left because of sme of the issues I've had that have gone unanswered and the weekend having no e-mail. -
Inappropriate?I believe all you need to do is add a period to the end of each line!
-
Inappropriate?Putting a period at the end of each line? That could definately be tried.
-
Inappropriate? To be fair to Sandy, now that I look hard at the documentation, all the examples do indeed show a blank line between commands. I assumed it was just for readability, but apparently it's significant.
Also under "Sandy Shorthand" I see "As long as you place each [command] in its own paragraph..." - apparently "own paragraph" means a blank line.
I haven't tried the suggestion yet from vnewq regarding periods. -
Inappropriate? To be fair, I';ve read the whole documentation book. It did not specifically say to put a blank line. It may have shown it, but for a visually impaired person, that doesn't necessarily help when using a reader that reads to them via text to speech. However, it does have a say blank option, but it isn't usually used for web reading. But I did read every help page before starting with Sandy.
-
Jared - no argument, the documentation is flawed. My intent was just to show where and how the documentation was flawed. -
Inappropriate?Well, I wouldn't say its flawed, because it is good, and I learned from it, however things sometimes didn't make sense.
-
Inappropriate?Have you tried the period yet? I didn't need a blank line. The period and "new" line make it a paragraph.
I think the Sandy help is too brief. More explanation and examples are needed. -
Inappropriate? No, I haven't tried anything as of yet. I've had no need as of yet.
-
Inappropriate? So, a big "NO" to the period at the end of each line. I tried the following (in response to a digest):
u #9 @done.
u #24 @done.
u #25 @done.
The result was Sandy did mark them @done, but also changed the titles of the three items to just a period.
-
Inappropriate? That doesn't help, and I was thinking of marking one of them done, seeing I can't make the town hall today, but I won't do it. Hmmm.
-
Inappropriate?I really wish I could update multiple items at once. At the end of the day, I'd like to email Sandy with:
Update #1, #4, #6-10 @done.
rather than the tedious
Update #1 @done
Update #4 @done
Update #6 @done
Update #7 @done
Update #8 @done
Update #9 @done
Update #10 @done -
Inappropriate? The problem is that it isn't working that way I did it and it only marked one thing done. Helpers, any ideas here please?
